J.K. Rowling has posted a tweet with a link to her website. The tweet’s link is her personal statement about her decision to publish The Cuckoo’s Calling as Robert Galbraith.

What I have to say about being Robert Galbraith and writing ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’:

Statement from her website:

J.K. Rowling’s statement regarding ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’ by Robert Galbraith

“I hoped to keep this secret a little longer, because being Robert Galbraith has been such a liberating experience! It has been wonderful to publish without hype or expectation and pure pleasure to get feedback from publishers and readers under a different name. The upside of being rumbled is that I can publicly thank my editor David Shelley, who has been a true partner in crime, all those people at Little, Brown who have been working so hard on The Cuckoo’s Calling without realising that I wrote it, and the writers and reviewers, both in the newspapers and online, who have been so generous to the novel. And to those who have asked for a sequel, Robert fully intends to keep writing the series, although he will probably continue to turn down personal appearances.”

Avatar Imageratorr2 says: When I first hear the news I though "I knew it!" but I was also sorry for her because it's not what she wanted. Writing under a nom de plume is like starting all over again with a clean slate to see how things go without everyone's expectations. I'm glad she's going to continue with this series (although I'm not planning on reading it). Maybe someday she'll try again under another pen name and series. Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: I am several chapters 'in' and there is no doubt who wrote it... I think had I read it not knowing, I would have at first suspected & then been sure it was Jo... Her way of introducing/developing characters is so familiar.Avatar ImageMad But Happy says: Reading it now. Loving it! The Casual Vacancy was good, but this new series is better. :)
