Emma Watson, who has portrayed Hermione Granger in all of the Harry Potter films to date, was a relative novice before landing the role, having only appeared in a few school plays before a casting agency turned up at her school. Emma has gained critical praise for her work in the Potter films, earning two back to back nominations as "Best Young Actress" from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her performances in the third and fourth Potter films,as well as a recent win as "Best Actress" at the National Movie Awards in the UK. Emma Watson will reprise her role as Hermione Granger in the remaining Harry Potter films, including Half-Blood Princeand both Deathly Hallows. The actress recently took on her first role outside the Potter films, appearing in "Ballet Shoes" a television movie based on the popular book by Noel Streatfeild, and was featured in the animated hit film "The Tale of Despereaux." In her spare time, Emma enjoys playing field hockey, tennis and rounders, as well as dancing and going to the cinema with her friends. She resides in England.
