56 Krum Hopefuls Move Forward

Fifty-six young men were chosen to go on to the next round of tryouts for the role of Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. More than 600 tried out. Thanks to Sarah for the tip!

It's Greek to me

From the BBC comes the news that a teacher has translated "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" into classical Greek. The book will be released later this year along with the Irish Gaelic version of the first Harry Potter novel.

Thousands turn out for Cho Chang auditions

Thousands of girls stood in line today to auditon for the part of Cho Chang in the upcoming GOF movie. A Warners Brothers spokesperson told the CBBC that around 3,000 girls took part in the open auditions.

Emma Thompson talks POA

In a short interview Emma Thompson said that she enjoyed working on "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". Playing the part of Professor Trelawney, she is also hoping to be around for film five, saying.."no acting required, just the waving of an empty bottle."

Sofia Sees Hundreds of Krum Hopefuls

CBBC has a brief bit of news (and a photo!) from the Krum tryouts, which drew hundreds of Bulgarian hopefuls.
Ananova reports that hopeful Krums who skipped school to attend the tryouts will not be punished for doing so. (I have a feeling Snape would have felt differently)
