“I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death ” if you aren’t as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach.”

As I’m sitting here at my computer trying to think of just one topic on Snape I think about starting at the beginning. I absolutely love the quote for this blog, and with many schools starting this past month there are a lot of teachers out there who may appreciate this quote as well. Whenever you embark on a journey of any kind, whether it be the first day of school, driving across country, or even getting married, there is always those butterflies in the pit of your stomach that let you know its all about to start.

That’s how I feel whenever I start reading PS/SS again…its all about to start

As many of you I’m sure experience something like that when starting the series over, I can’t wait for the moment when Harry is in the Great Hall and sees Severus Snape from across the room and we are introduced to a character that has both made Harry the person he is at that moment, and that will eventually give his life to save Harry and the wizarding world as a whole.

So, where does that leave us? In the quote above, Snape is greeting the first years by insulting them, and those that came before him. I find his words both witty and funny, but to be honest, it probably isn’t that far from the truth. Snape tends to say what people want to say, but out of politeness doesn’t. As we move from this moment in his classroom through PS/SS lets look at those moments when Snape both comes through for Harry and the Trio, while also making enemies of everyone along the way.

Anyone know where and when the quote was said? I know I’ve already given some of it away.
