I just took my first college-level creative writing class this semester, too, Candace! I had one or two workshops as a high schooler, but I didnt feel like I got much GOOD feedback. This class was great and it really helped me in being able to pick out flaws in OTHER people’s writing, and my own, which then helped me to edit and tweak my own pieces. It was great! I took the 200 level creative writing class this semester with a professor I really liked, and I’m taking the same professor next semester for my 300 level creative writing course. I cant wait! Glad you liked yours too. :)
ADDIE! It’s interesting how picking apart someone else’s work also helps you figure out your own! I learned a lot by learning to ask the right questions about someone elses writing. :)
The first writing class I took was this past semester, and I was disappointed, because we were “only doing LITERARY fiction not GENRE fiction”. But then this semester I’m loving my non-fiction CW class. My teacher has a better sense of humour, and we’ve done more round table stuff, and we even have to make a blog as part of the requirements!
