*rereads and makes a note to watch Mamma Mia a bit less*

But
it was as that is the day hubby (Sir Dragon Preacher) and I were
married. For the past few months, I had come up with the idea of doing
an afghan for him with runes on it. Of course this never got past the
idea stages as there was always a reason I didn’t sit down to graph it
out.

Until last weekend.

May 1st…What.A.Night!

Me? Watching Mamma Mia too much? Nah, what makes you say that. Now where were we? Oh yes.

Last weekend, Sorting was announced and ‘classes’ opened for a group on Ravelry called HP Knitting/Crochet House Cup. The two of the other Crafty Witches who shall remain nameless *coughcough Quietish and As_Weasley_As_I_Wanna_

Becoughcough*
talked me into joining in spite of my protests that I had no time to do
it with so many projects on my to do list as it was. I’m sorted into
Hufflepuff (what? there’s other houses?)

The quick run down of
the concept is there are six classes posted and on the first of each
month, for three months, new sessions are given. This month’s began on
the first and you have till the end of the 31st to finish a class. One
class. That’s all that’s required. Which is why ‘I don’t have enough
time for it’ has turned in her projects for all six classes already as
of early this morning.

The classes were fun. They forced me
to think outside the box somewhat. And most of them actually got me to
sit down and accomplish part of my to do list. The projects I had
needed to do fit in with the classes.

So
now, while I wait for June 1st and a new set of classes, I’m working on
my OWLs for Ancient Runes. Yes, you guessed it! Hubby’s afghan. It’s
graphed and started. His name in runes and the sigil for the love of a
woman for a man. While they give you till end of July to finish your
OWLs, I plan to get mine done by our Anniversary.

The fun
thing is the new friends made. The great thing is the shot of life it
gave to my creativity as I’ve had to either adapt or come up with new
patterns of my own. Like the crocheted baby mandrake tutorial that
will be appearing in TLC Crafts section soon!

Now, I’ve got an OWL to ‘study’ for and quidditch cheers to
write! Back soon but I’ll leave you with a Hufflepuff Cheer (with apologies to Abba *grins*)

Quidditch, quidditch, how Puffs love it, ah-hah, quidditch quidditch
Quidditch, quidditch, how we win it, ah-hah, quidditch quidditch
Beat Claws and Gryffindor
Slytherins will lose some more
And Hufflpuff wins it clean, they’re a quidditch machine
Oh, they’ve got the snitch now!
