HP art soup

First I want to thank the AMAZING Tom Scribble for the snippets of her artwork on my blog banner. She is truly one of the GREAT HP FanArtists!

Now, about this little ol’ blog-thingy here: I thought, being the big HP FanArt geek that I am, it might be nice to talk a bit more about art in general, HP fan art in particular, and the visual side of the Potter-phenomenon. In a more personal manner than is possible in the Leaky Gallery Forums, that is. I’ll explain the soup reference in a later article . . . (doesn’t that make you want to come back now?) LL, cool

As a frustrated would-be artist, it has been a very liberating experience for me to embrace this little sub-genre of contemporary art. Liberating in that while some “failed artists” might be afraid of facing their inner-demons through others’ works, I find myself invigorated. Maybe some day this visual elixir will cause me to again take pen or pencil (or graphic tablet–YOWSA!) in hand and get back to my inky roots. Until that day, however, I’m just a FanArt fan, being amazed on a daily basis by the depth and breadth of the HP fan art community!

So this is the shared beginning of my on-going adventures in Potter-art. I may in future discuss classical art, the silly Photoshopping I do (and call it art) or even how-to’s about whatever strikes me in an artistic vein. (Just wait ’til I get my Wacom tablet!) Welcome!
