Great article! This is so true. Family is those you love. :)
Btw, this might not be so relevant, but I love the part at the end of Chapter 36 in Goblet of Fire when Mrs. Weasley gives Harry a hug, “like a mother”. That paragraph has always moved me. It all just goes to show that we can love, whether it is biological or not doesn’t matter. ;D

Thanks for your comment rhadamenthes! I like what you said about people loving you because they want to, not because they have to.
And PellegrinoSophie[Owl] I debated about whether to put a quote that talked about how Molly thought of Harry as a son. I really like that relationship too. Molly had so many of her own children to care for, I really admire that she took on Harry as her own too.

So True! I have an awesome blood family – I am very close to my mom, sister, dad and grandparents. I have also been linked to family by marriage, but its my relationship with them that really makes them family. I also have my work family. I love the people I work with and I would do anything for them – and I know they feel the same way. We see each other more than we see our families at home. We celebrate each others triumphs and mourn one another’s losses. And if anyone messes with one of them – watch out!
Harry very much had an adopted family – but that doesnt make it any less meaningful. I am sure nothing takes the place of your real parents, but Harry was surrounded by so much love! I am sure not knowing his parents was always hard, but in the end having so many loved one around him he was finally complete.
Happy Valentines Day! (a little late!)

Well put Jessica! I come from a fairly large family, however, my husband only has his mom and grandmother left. We have a number of very close friends who also make up our family. We celebrate birthdays, holidays, take vacations together and so much more. We are blessed to have these people in our lives. Harry Potter is a true testament to having people around you who care and love you because they want to, not because they have to.
