I remember what you described, but not for Harry Potter. I experienced those excited feelings way back for my first midnight premier ever, “Star Wars Episode I”! These days, my job prevents me from seeing the awesome premiers of movies with all my friends, so I don’t get quite as excited as I normally would, but I hadn’t been so anxious for a movie to come out as “Half-Blood Prince” this year, I can say at least. And I wasn’t disappointed when I was finally able to get into the theater (alone, of course). I’ve seen it three times since, one of them being in the IMAX! It’s my new favorite HP movie!

I can really relate to you, as I just found the fandom a year ago. I totally agree with being happy about the date move, iut just gives us some more time with all of our new friends. =]

Wonderful blog, Jessica! I’m new in the HP fandom as well, and this was my first experience of an HP movie in the theater. Like you, the build up was very exciting. We had a movie premiere party with lots of festive Potter-themed foods One of my favorites of the evening was my “Aragog RIP pumpkin chocolate chip cake” with a BIG ugly plastic spider belly up in the center on top! We all shared HP stories, how we got into the books, etc. It was great fun. We all loved the movie – I’ve seen it 3 times now (& would happily go again!).
