Hey everybody! Or at least, hey to the small contingent of everybody who has decided to read my little cubby of the Potterverse. 🙂 Given the opportunity, I’m planning to yak your ear off about one of my three passions: BOOKS! (I’m not really capable of relating the other two to Rowling’s work, unfortunately). I know that I’m not the only one who has been wondering what other books could be almost as enthralling as these, and in my own hunt I’ve found some seriously cool works.

Like the severely underused “If You Like Harry Potter” feature in Scribbulus, I will of course be relating each of these books to the one that brought us all together. You’ll get a guide to which Potter-lovin’ audiences it would appeal the most (children, teenagers, adults, all of the above…) and what elements of the stories will resonate with fans in addition to the obligatory small summary. The easy route is to suggest some stellar fantasy, but the truth is that there are a TON of really amazing stories that have very little to do with Harry plot-wise. So I plan to do both, of course, as suits my mood. To start it off right, I’m going to review the works that Jo herself found formative, ones that she loved when young.

In addition, I’d love to hear what suggestions you have! I can’t swear that I’ll read it right away because my TBR (to be read) pile is out of control, but if you’re passionate about books too, we’ve already got two important things in common! If you’d like to get an idea of some of the books I’ve read fairly recently, please check out my shelfari page. Some of these will pop up now & again.

In the meantime, happy reading!
