Great blog entry. :)
Song references in your post? Well, let’s see…
“This renewed adulation for the Scottish Woman” is obviously echoing that famous ZZ Top song called Scottish_Woman: “They start a-reading just as fast as they can / ‘Cuz everyone’s crazy ‘bout that Scottish Wo-man.”
“While I was waiting for my pancakes” is a clear reference to the catchy Jason Mraz song, Curbside_Mandrake: “I’m just a Curbside Mandrake / Won’t you give me a handshake? / I’m waiting for my pancakes to come.”
And “NOTHING rhymes with George,” of course, is from the eponymous Duran Duran song, whose chorus goes: “Though most of the time / I filk on a dime, / I’m totally stym-/ied by this word. / I’m mute as a mime / It’s really a crime / Because NOTHING rhymes with Geoooorge.” (For some reason people think this one is actually called _Hungry_Like_the_Wolf—how silly! Lupin doesn’t have anything to do with it.)
What’s that? Lyrics from imaginary filks don’t count as song references? Hmmph! Some blog about filking THIS is!
(Oh, OK. “It was the dawning of the age of Fred is Dead” is Fifth Dimension’s _Age_of_Aquarius. Or _Plague_of_Inferius by HP filker Caius Marcius. See, I didn’t make that one up.)

Loved it! But I keep thinking of the song “Freddie’s Dead” by Curtis Mayfield, from the Superfly soundtrack. (Don’t tell me I’m the only one out there in possession of that album, come on!) Maybe not as entertaining as Bandersnatch’s songs but surely it counts as one of the nine?
I also spied a few lyrics from “Feeling Good” by your fellow Nina, Ms. Simone. And the Aquarius thing. That’s not nine, is it? Ah well, I tried. Lovely blog!
Small correction: it was a Barnes & Noble store, not a Borders.

LOVELOVELOVE IT! Hey we have the same taste in music!
Percy’s song should be “Good Bye Yellow Brick Road” – just putting that thought in your creative head!
