One Big Pain in the Horcrux…

size=”3″ face=”Times”>I’m busy. I’ve gotta go to work.
I’ve got homework. Study, chores, work, work, work.

size=”3″ face=”Times”>We all know what it’s like. We always
push ourselves to do more, more, more, wanting to please others and
do what’s right. Running around, staying up late then waking up early
and doing it all over again.

size=”3″ face=”Times”>Recently I’ve been very busy, due to
a number of people and things that keep building up into one big pain
in the horcrux.

size=”3″ face=”Times”>One day I’d just had enough. I didn’t
want to do it anymore. But like the inexorable crafter I am, I couldn’t
just sit still and do nothing. I had to do something. So for the first
time in about a year, I started a knitting project.

size=”3″ face=”Times”>In fact it was the first time I’d knitted
in a year, period.

size=”3″ face=”Times”>This will probably sound incredibly goofy,
but picking up those needles and getting into the well-known rhythm
was absolute bliss. The utter familiarity and routine of it amazed me.
I never thought I’d miss something like knitting so much, but I had.
I swear, I almost cried with happiness. Wow, how embarrassing
it is to admit that!

size=”3″ face=”Times”>Picking up those needles, I actually
felt like things were right in the world. My stress melted away, and
I felt like I was in the right place.

size=”3″ face=”Times”>Now I can truly believe and agree with
all you fellow makers out there, that craft is something you can rely
on, something to get lost in when all else seems to have failed.

size=”3″ face=”Times”>Never again will I shove my projects
to the side to make way for ˜more important’ things. You have my
word, craft, that you will live equally!
