Today, J.K. Rowling was interviewed on the BBC Radio 4 show "The Learning Curve". While the topic was not about the Harry Potter books, the interview gave greater insight to the struggle that J.K. Rowling went through as a single parent attending college for her teaching degree.

JK Rowling will be interviewed on BBC Radio for a program called "The Learning Curve"which is set to air Tuesday, March 16th. Show host Libby Purves says "we'll be in Scotland with JK Rowling who is looking back in order to help us consider the difficulties of being an adult learner, and bettering yourself when you're a hard pressed single mother." AP and the nonexistent eighth book

The Associated Press, in its story about the chat, has gone back to that old Harry Potter news chestnut, taking J.K. Rowling's equivocacy on whether she'll stop at seven books and blowing it up into a headline about the possibility of an eighth book. Nothing's really changed with regard to her book plans, as the fans know.

Totally Harry Potter has up a Spanish transcript of the J.K. Rowling interview, and De Lekke Ketel has up a Dutch translation. Also look for the German translation on Hp-fans.de, a French translation at the Harry Potter Mysteries forum, and a Portuguese translation from Brazil's Hogwarts site.

JK Rowling made a rare public appearance at a charity ball for the Leap for Meningitis fundraiser in Edinburgh. She generously spent 127,000 British Pounds towards things as a dinner to be cooked by celebrity chef Nick Narin, a motorised scooter, and a guided tour of Edinburgh to be conducted by author Ian Rankin.
