J.K. Rowing Ranks Sixth on Forbes Most Powerful Celebrity List

J.K. Rowling has moved up from fifteen last year to sixth place this year on U.S. magazine Forbes' most powerful celebrities list.
The number one position was given to Mel Gibson. Last year's number one, Jennifer Aniston, is now ranked seventeen.

Lightmaker, the company behind JK Rowling's nifty new website has announced that the site was named "Favorite Websites Award" Site Of The Day (SOTD) for 8th June 2004.

As she promised, J.K.Rowling has updated her site - we have a new wizard of the month, new fan site award, and more stuff I have not yet discovered...check it out! (The wizard of the month, Gwenog Jones, doesn't seem to be loading. Give it some time guys - she's probably updating as we speak, er, type.)

Rowling last night, and her first question, asked as if she really honestly thought there was a chance we'd say no, was 'Do you like the site?' The Daily Record reported unflinchingly today, in an article about J.K. Rowling turning down a Dr. Who writing gig, that the title J.K. Rowling's "latest installment" is Harry Potter and the Green Flame Torch.

Today, J.K. Rowling was interviewed on the BBC Radio 4 show "The Learning Curve". While the topic was not about the Harry Potter books, the interview gave greater insight to the struggle that J.K. Rowling went through as a single parent attending college for her teaching degree.
