New Poll!! ;)
Graymayne, Congratulatios on being first! ;)
Aloha! Off to justify the existance of my job. ;)
Deanie Wow! This was my first “first post” in probably four years, lol.
Wow! I didn’t even get to vote. Haven’t eseen the new trailer yet. Will do that later.
Happily flurking !!!!!
So I finally watched it. The Fred scene made me feel all weepy but I voted Something Else…I particularly liked Molly Weasley with her blazing eyes and wand out.
Thanks for giving us the heads up on the new poll, Josie! I voted Something Else as well, mainly just because I didn’t have a single favorite part; the whole thing looked great. But I’ve only watched it once and probably won’t again (unless I catch it in the theater – have they announced what it’s playing in front of, or has it just been online so far?) because I’m trying not to get too spoiled by previews or promotional stuff. I haven’t read any of the reports from the early screening either. I want to be surprised as much as possible, since it’ll be the last time I can be. sob
I’m going to stay over at the old poll with my off topic comments for while so as not to annoy the non-regulars wanting to discuss the trailer. ;)
Apparates over from the old poll
New poll! Woohoo!!
Definitely “something else.” I loved seeing Snape more than anything! So excited about Snape’s part in DH:2!!!
Hope you’re all well! Cheers! :-)
Voted for ‘Something Else’…
Ahem, this will be my only on topic post… looool…
Poor MM… She will be beside herself for missing yet again to be first on the Poll…
If we count carefully, maybe we can arrange for her to be first on page two. If she gets here around the right time. ;)
After break lurk. ;)
I really need to get back to my tedius file cleaning. ;)
Bbl. ;)
New poll! OMG! How long has it been?
Let’s see… on the trailer. I put “something else” because Fred makes me cry, I HATE that stupid swan dive, the Knights are cool but not a super big deal, and I love, love, love Molly getting Bellatrix, but there were other things in the trailer that I’d say were favorites, like the dragon, Harry’s walk into the forest (though that makes me cry even harder than Fred, if possible), things like that.
Have caught up at the old poll but will have to come back later to post. Hope you’re all having a terrific week!
:)
Oooh, Felipe, you’re right, I forgot – seeing so much of Snape was awesome, too!
OK, BBL, bye, all!
The Snape stuff is the best, but Molly is awsome. WHY are they having the Harry Voldemort fight be physical?
Hermione_Granger_Weasley Because the movie people don’t think there is enough “action” in the fight the way Jo wrote it. Evidently they still think the primary audience are boys around 12 years old.
Judging by the people who post here on the Polls, the real audience is female in her mid-thirties. frequenty she is the mother of a child 10 to 14 years old. I do wish they would get a clue. ;)
Wow a new poll!
I really liked the scene with young Lily and Petunia, I also really liked The brief shot of Ginny and the gang running towards what I can only assume is the appartenly dead Harry!
I suppose I didn’t need to worry about there being an influx of poll-related posters annoyed by us regulars! ;)
But hello to anyone new who does stop in…if you stick around, you’ll find that there’s a group of us who post here regularly, veering off from the poll topic to anything and everything on our minds. :) We’ve all become good friends, and many have met in person.

Hometime in 40. ;)
The only legit photos I know of were released by Reuters and I viewed them on the Huffington Post site yesterday… They are of the compound, and 3 bodies of men that were also kia during the raid. NOT pix of OBL! The pix are graphic & bloody…
Evening all! I had a session with the Cardiac Nurse at my health centre. My BP is not as low as it was at the last reading in August last year. She was doing a yearly health review and seemed surprised that I hadn’t been seen by her before. In answer to some of her questions she discovered that the records she was inspecting, presumably mine, did not include reports from the hospital procedures that were carried out on me last year. She knew that I had had a heart attack but didn’t know how this had been discovered. This is irritating and inefficient. I have an appointment to see my doctor next week to discuss my blood test results and discuss the topic of statins. I have kept my hospital correspondence from last year so I will make out a calendar of events so that the holes in my records can be chased up.
Asti I hope that you find The Hare with Amber Eyes as pleasurable, fascinating and informative as I did.
CoolG I miss your voice, you haven’t posted for days. Are you well?
Graymayne, that just shows how shambolic our own Health Service can be! I am constantly astonished at how inefficient interdepartmental communication can be.
I found a book recently that I think you might enjoy. It’s called Ursula, Under, by Ingrid Hill. A small girl falls down a mine shaft, and, while a rescue attempt is made, the author looks back to Ursula’s ancestors and their lives, and all that has made this little girl so special.
CoolG, me too. xx
Wotcher Ya"ll
Something else cause I can’t veiw the trailer that ya’ll seem to have seen, saw the one on youtube and none of it was enough of any one scene to say it is a favorite…..
that lack of communication is just insane Graymayne
The glimpses of Snape were definitely ‘Something Else’.
What I don’t understand is the price of a barrel of oil was $114 last Friday… It has fallen over the week to $96 today… That is approximately a 15% drop… Why have gas prices gone UP instead of down this last week? What is terribly wrong with this picture?
Evening all! I lost a post through carelessness this morning but didn’t have time to re-post because we were going food shopping. I am just recovering from that expedition.
Asti It looks good on Amazon, I think I might buy that.
Won_Two The world of high finance is a complete mystery to me.
By the way, I also voted for “Something Else”.
I’m going to repost everything here I have posted today so far at the old poll. I appear to be alone over there now.
I have found a website that I think is useful although I do have some reservations about its use.
It is a website that gives parents some incite into what is in books and movies. The thing I don’t like is that it makes an analysis and tells you how old your child should be to read a book or watch a movie.
The thing I do like it that it gives an analysis in categories of how much violence, sex, consumerism, drugs and alcohol and positive role models and messages are in the movie and then it gives an explanation with specific references to why each category was rated as it was.
I like this instead of going blindly into a movie. My DS was planning on taking our daughter to see Hanna and it turns out it is full of graphic murders and the main character is a little girl who is a professional assasin with no intention of fighting her basic nature of having a talent for murder. I think he thought it was a sort of Hunger Games.
I don’t like that they tell you how old your child should be. I think you can figure that out for yourself, based on their categories and explanations.

WON, I actually paid less for gas last week than the week before and more this week again. It makes no sense, especially with barrel prices having dropped. I did hear that we should expect lower prices by the first of June.
227 PointsI have a small brag on my daughter but I’m a mommy so I suppose I’m entitled. There is a study website schools use to help the children to study for the various state standardized tests. The tests are broken down into very specific integral skills that are subparts to language, reading, and math learning and retention.
During all this intensive studying for the standardized tests my daughter has made the top score of any child in the state on three online quizes, one each in language, reading, and math. Now, there are many, many, many other little quizes that she has not placed first in the entire state or even in the top scorers in her school. But I can’t help being pleased she has tested first in three subtests. I know the one she did on the computer at home involved sequencing of events in reading. I would imagine the great majority of the students have never placed first in even one test, much less three.
Now I wonder if the “mother” of all duels is actually a reference to Molly.
I wondered about that too, LadyHawke but I still voted Something Else because I wasn’t too sure if it also meant the duel between Harry and V.

Won_Two: This may help.

Amazing! We have another fine, dry day and I have been in the garden and there are some tee shirts currently swaying in the gentle breeze.
An ITV two-part drama case sensitive , adapted from a work of fiction, proved to be a rewarding watching the last two evenings. A police drama with far more action actually out in the field and not a lot of emphasis on forensics. Much better than a BBC offering on Sunday night, I think, which, though headed by Brenda Blethyn who is a fine character actress, got a thumbs down from both of us. Let’s just say that during the two-hour playing time I kept looking at my watch.
