I am taking a break. I got one shelf cleaned off so at least Jennifer will have somewhere to put a few things. I hope to get more cleaned off. I’m just organizing and putting everything on a different shelf for me. I managed to get my heavy file cabinets moved further down to make room for her freezer and fridge. Oh did I leave room for my freezer? I will have to check.
I’ll be glad for Jennifer to get there so she can help with some of the shoving. I know you are tired of hearing this. Be careful with your back.
Got to go.
Good day to all!
I know we have a few folks here who do a bit of cooking. I wanted to share with you something that I have been using that is a really great little helper, & the price right now is absolutely a steal! This item has been placed on closeout and will sell out soon. I HIGHLY recommend you get this if you ever bake or roast something you do not want to go wrong. It is a cooking thermometer that is REMOTELY CONTROLLED! and it is programmable! and it even has a built in flashlight that comes in real handy to get a peek what you are cooking if you have a dark oven or smoker like I do.

Good evening!
Well, I survived my first day back at work. But isn’t it horrid, it only takes about 20 minutes back, and it feels like you’ve never been away.
I have a question for all of you clever people who know so much more about computers than I do, (ie all of you,)……once Pottermore is open to everyone, I want to sign my daughter up. Will it be possible to register her account to the same email address as my account? I hope so, as it will be by far the easiest way for me to moniter her. I have had two friends requests already from total randoms, and I just want to keep an eye…………. Thanks.
Lady Hawke, I’m so pleased your daughter seems happy at school. I share your pain about the trip, that’s pretty much my idea of hell, lol!
I hope rehab goes well……how is your Dad getting on?
Ava, I’m sorry. I havn’t read that either.
Won, that device looks pretty incredible, and as you say the reduction is fab!
CoolG, I hope all the prep is going well. How long until your daughter joins you?
Asti, my daughter and I have the same email addie. I also wish to monitor what she sees. She’s also happier about it because she is terrified of interacting with anyone over the internet. Smart girl.
Back later.
Thanks, Josephine, that is good to know.
Well I just got some good news. Remember I told you I had a water leak and the bill was about $700 ? My son-in-law stopped by and he had been at the water company. He sells them parts. While he was there he asked about my high bill. Since he was talking to the head honcho, they completely took off the amount. I will only owe about $131 for the past two months. I can’t tell you what a relief that is. Now I will be able to pay the ambulence bill.
It is taking me forever to rearrange the downstairs. I had to remove all the lumber that I had been using to work with and clean up the mess where I cut it. I set up my desk downstairs so now I will be able to put away my supplies. The desk I am using just doesn’t have enough room to store all my office supplies. The top will probably wind up being a catch all for when we bring groceries in since they will be downstairs in cabinets instead of all in the kitchen. Mainly I am going to put a TV on it so the grandkids can play video games when they come. This will give them a place not under my feet. It won’t be as nice a place as they did have but it will work.
One of the girls is coming to spend the weekend. We are going to have a mess with Jennifer moving in but maybe she can help. Jennifer will be here Thursday. I still need to lay the carpet in the bedroom. I hope I can get it done tomorrow. It looks like my entire day is going to be taken up with the downstairsl.
I hope you all enjoy these.

I have a question for the medical experts in the Castle… I have a Ravenclaw acquaintance who claims he had a near fatal bout of Septicemia over the weekend… He is now home… How is this possible? I thought if you get potentially fatal Sepsis you will be VERY lucky to walk away with your self intact, and never without a lengthy stay in a hospital? Is this not so?
Evening all! Just finished The Hunger Games, gosh that was tense! I’ll have to download the next one.
CoolG Now that’s what I call a supportive son-in-law. Don’t overdo the homecoming preparations and wear yourself out, your daughter will be amazed by what you have achieved so far.
Ironsos Wonderful collection!
I’m drooping over my keyboard, must get to bed.
Well I didn’t get completely finished but the downstairs does look like a room now instead of a catch me all.
Yes Graymayne I do have a good son-in-law. I try not to take advantage of him by doing everything I can myself. My daughter keeps asking me why I don’t ask for help. I tell her I try to do what I can myself and save the things I can’t do to ask for help. If I didn’t, I would be asking for help everyday.
I’m forced to take a break. Dan is coming on Regis and Kelly in a few moments.
Won I don’t know about your friend, but my mother got VRE (Vancomycin Resistant something, one of those antibiotic resistant strains of Staph) while in the hospital in 1999 and they sent her home. But, the home health nurse came by twice a day to give her an IV of an antibiotic cocktail. This went on fr the better part of a year! It did clear up, eventually. ;)
Aloha! ;)
COOLG, that is such a relief about the water bill going “poof”. Is your SIL a closet wizard?
Regis and Kelly will not even start here for another couple of minutes. I have to pick my parents up in about 30 minutes so I have to get out of here. I suppose I can record it.
Both my parents have dermatologist appointments today. My father has something that needs to come off the top of his head.
No Dan yet. Recording. I’m off.
Well it turned out to be a repeat but nice to see Dan again. I am laying the carpet in the spare bedroom. As usual, I don’t have our carpet laying tools. I could really use the strecher and the tool to connect the carpet to the nail things……tack strips. I must be tired since I can’t remember the names of the tools. I guess I can use a …….spackel tool. It won’t work as well but at least maybe the carpet will catch on some of the tacks. I already have the hard part done….cutting around the doorway. I have one more wall to trim. It does look nice.
lurkmark
I have nothing much to say… It’s hot but cloudy here and I’m kind of hoping for it to rain. I’m spending the day in from of the computer, avoiding doing my homework.Yet again I promised myself I would do it all in the first few weeks of summer, and here I am, yet again, having not even started it. Sigh…
I am tired! Working for a living is very overated.
LMG has spent all day being nice to me. I think it’s a new strategy.
Still no MM?
CoolG, that is good news about the water bill, but I think it’s awful to throw the ambulance bill at you now, when you thought everything was settled. I hope all goes well with your daughter moving in tomorrow.
HW, it’s awful they give you homework over the summer holiday! You have my sympathies, and if you’d like to move to England, let me know!
Graymayne, I have a wonderful book recommendation. I think you’ll really like it. It’s called Icons of England. It’s edited by Bill Bryson, but it’s a collection of short essays from about 70 people, all about a specific part of England that they love, be it a view, a city, water meadows, summer fairs, or even postboxes. It’s a gorgeous, really heartwarming book to dip into, and all the proceeds go to the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
Asti, they don’t give summer homework in England?!?! Yep, I’m ditching… Bye America!! ;)
HW, I’ll start decorating your room!
HW Since you are so much older than *Asti*’s children, I suppose you will have to be her American cousin from the side of the family they don’t talk about. ;)
And, to beat PotterBoy to the punch… I suppse that makes you an “unspeakable”! ;)
Hometime in just under an hour!. Off to try and get my desk clear before I run out of time! ;)

I know of 15 videos in this series. Here is a link. I wonder why episode was so popular?

Should read why was episode 14 so popular?
With the high cost of oil & gas, solar power has become much more popular! ;+)
Won_Two: For some reason that answer never came to me.
Evening all! No Pottermore letter yet:(
Asti I’ve looked that up on Amazon and it does indeed sound fascinating and I am all in favour of protecting Rural England. Our village had its red telephone box whipped out some years ago but there was an outcry and we now have our proper box back. I’m amazed that BT was not aware that the village is a conservation area.
Ironsos Your link didn’t work for me:(
Time for bed, I’m yawning hugely.
Graymayne: Go to youtube and enter “lut 1 vsauce2” in the search box. The first
entry should be all 15 episodes.
HW, I have never known of summer homework. One year they offered us some extra credit if we would read some books off a book list but we never had written homework over the holidays and neither does my daughter.
Weren’t our trio often doing homework over the summer and Christmas holidays in England?
AVA, sorry, never heard of it.
I’m off to get ready to leave to pick up my parents. I did get some laundry done.
