The tornado alert has expired… Yes LH, the rain & thunder storms have been passing thru all day! Got a long string of red ‘blobs’ on the weather radar, doing the “freight train” effect!
About 2 years ago I mentioned I used to go to an old mansion for Christmas parties and I think it
wa Lady Hawke who mentioned it looked familiar from the movies. I could never find which movie
but I finally found some good info on the house:
I also found it hhas quite the history as a haunted place
Funny how the mind works. I suddenly thought to look up this house today and it’s
name came right to me.
Here is yet another entry to place in the “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up File”…
No Pottermore letter for me today. le pout! ;)
Ironsos sometimes the funniest part is that it works at all. At least in my case. ;)
Neat mansion! ;)
WON_TWO: Saw the video on the news. Who’s next? Pokey?
Deanie: I somtimes think I must have a steam powered brain in a nuclear powered world.
Glad you are safe, Won!
Big congratulations to Graymayne on getting Hufflepuff! It always makes me very happy when Leaky peeps actually get a House they WANT. She says without bitterness… sigh LOL Seriously, I am very happy for you. Envious, but happy. :)
One of my really close local writer friends got in yesterday and had to call me to see if I would still speak to her after she got… Gryffindor. Sob That makes two now, her and LD. I really cannot wait until we get our actual feedback forms from Pottermore where we get to write comments. I would love it if EVERYONE, whether you got the House you wanted or not, would put in a strongly worded comment or two about needing the ability to choose our House after the Sorting Hat has it’s say. In my heart of hearts I don’t believe they will really change it, but you never know. If enough people bring it up…. In a very heartfelt and emotional way, of course. Pull those heart strings! :)
The kids had okay days back at school. I would not say stellar, but at least no serious crises. The boy did have a minor snafu with being put temporarily in the beginner band rather than intermediate, which, like Asti’s son, required a reworking of his schedule. This threw him for enough of a loop that he had a mini-meltdown when he got in the car, but it was quickly over and all seems well now.He reacts to change the same way I do. Freak out first, accept later. LOL LP is not loving any of her morning classes, which consists of all the AP ones, but her afternoons are fun and easy, so that will be a nice way to end each day. As long as she can get through some very tough mornings. Neither of them have any friends in any of their classes, which is a bummer, but LP has grown used to that and LC at least had familiar faces, if not good friends. The real test now will be next week when we’re all truly back in the swing of things, but thank you all for the good thoughts/wishes for their day! We’re off to a solid start, I would say. :)
I am going to bed early tonight after no sleep last night. Just have ot get my work ready for tomorrow’s write-a-thon, then I’m hitting the hay. Have a good night, everyone!
Morning lurk. ;)
My PH is not in yet. I really hope she stays out all day. ;)
I’m getting a bit angry at Sony/Pottermore. Twice I have made a post on the Sorting comment page, suggesting the need for at least an “Anything but…” choice during the Sorting. Twice it has said my comment was “under moderation”. It was tossed and never posted the first time. I’m waiting for the results of the second attempt. If this one doesn’t make it either I will assume they don’t want any dissention in the ranks.
Evening all! I printed off a label design for my DS’s 18 jars of Damson and Apple with ginger jam this morning, so they are all safely stored away up in the roof.
I am annoyed with Pottermore because in response to complaints about Potions taking too long, the time allowed now is impossibly short:(
Son had the orthodontist this afternoon……..all is going well, thankfully. He’s had the traintracks for 5 months now.
Graymayne, it took me a long long long time to make my potion! The good thing is, the next page is not locked; you do not have to do it. Good luck!
say hello to my little friend.
Potterbore has announced that until further notice it will now be sending out mass welcome emailings on a daily basis… They are well into the third day group.
Morning all! I’m going to be busy doing housework this morning.
Further to my outburst above, what I lack is experience with video games. There are methods and techniques which are employed in completing tasks on screen which will prove easier to video game enthusiasts. I’m not bad at finding hidden objects so not all is lost.
Asti Thanks for that. I still haven’t mastered the practice potion, my cauldron keeps melting. I skipped to the spells but I’m rubbish at those as well. I empathise with Neville. lol.
GRAYMAYNE, I have not made a successful potion yet either. I did find if I write down the instructions, rather than try to remember them, it helps.
When one is trying to open the ALOHOMORA door when and how do you click on the letters and glowing green circles. The first time I tried it the instructions were there but then the door had no letters so I gave up. Now the letters are there but now I can’t find the instructions.
I agree with you, GRAYMAYNE, I become frustrated and flustered with the timer running. It seems the times used to be longer and they SHORTENED them for people who thought it took too long.
Now, how they know people thought it took too long I don’t know, since every suggestion I have made has been put under review and has never made it to the post page or seen the light of day again.
I take it all they care is that it works the way they wanted it to work, not if any of it makes sense to us.
No email again today. When LH got hers, I was expecting to get mine on the next batch to go out. So much for that thought. I should have known when I would stay up late every day and still miss getting registered that it wasn’t going to happen quickly.
I need to figure out what I am going to do today. I have mostly rested this week so I need to do the regular cleaning if nothing else.
Does anyone know who SeekerEye25 is? I’ve had a friend request, but the name does not appear on the two lists I have. I never accept a friend that I don’t know.
GRAYMAYNE, I am ripping my hair out. I’m still doing something wrong. I have left more detailed ranting at the new Castle.
My poor DS is obsessively checking his email. He is very anxious to get his Sorting done and to get to start playing. He has two people in his house who are banging away at Pottermore and he wants to join in.
I’m having an amazing ‘plastic tub’ BBQ dinner. Amazing because it really tastes good, requires little or no actual ‘cooking’, and is comprised of things that really do come in lil’ separate plastic ‘tubs’ filled with surprisingly high quality genuine ‘food’ items… Oh, and did I mention that all told it is quite cheap & is more than enough food for two?
(1) 18 ounce Tub of Lloyd’s Shredded pork in BBQ sauce… This was the only item that was ‘cooked’ (actually just reheated in the microwave).
(2) 1lb. tub of Reser’s Mustard Potato Salad.
(3) 1lb. tub of Reser’s Cole Slaw.
(4) 6 ounce tub of Oscar Mayer Deli-Fresh Grilled Chicken Breast chunks…
Condiments: squeeze bottle of bbq sauce, jar of mayo, salt, pepper, etc…
My sister’s on her way to the hospital! She did say there’s only a fifty percent chance they’ll keep her tonight. The contractions still aren’t consistent, though they’re getting stronger in intensity. But she had a checkup this morning, and her doctor said she’s the one on tonight, so if things kept up the way they’ve been, my sis could go in and if it was a quiet night, with not too many other impending births, they’d admit her and try to move things along. I’ve got my fingers crossed. :)
JEN, I hope all goes well and the baby arrives uneventfully for both the mother and the baby.
WON, there is nothing like and easy, good dinner. I found a rack of cooked ribs on sale Wednesday evening. They went down very well, particularly good since all I had to do was apply some heat to warm them up.
