Deanie, I’ve found that stretching the foot while massaging the arch before stepping out of bed also helps.

MM, my vote was for The Princess Bride. Thanks!

I would just like to extend my apologies to you for the post I made about your comment. Do not take this as sarcastic because it is not. This is a sincere apology. Again, I’m very sorry for what I said. I over reacted. And for that, I am very sorry. I hope you can accept this apology and we can put that behind us for a brighter future.

Also, I have been informed that people think my posts are sarcastic. This very far from the truth! Just because you don’t like me does not mean that I don’t mean it when I say, “I’m glad you’re doing ok!” or “I’m glad you had fun!” or “Have a good time/day!”, etc. I really do want to know how you are all doing. So please, do not take my posts as being rude or sarcastic. Just because some of us share mutual feelings of dislike does not mean that I am not going to try to be civil, say hi, or whatever.

So, let’s move on from all this drama. Please.

Thanks!

Hi, guys, catching up, I can’t stay, wow, it’s been busy today! And I missed Sirius AGAIN dammit! This self-imposed daytime exile is NOT going to work out for me if I keep missing that guy. :( Be sure and tell him I am thinking of him and still sending all the spells and prayers I can, if you guys see him and I am not here, OK? I am sure half of what I say to him gets lost since there is so much time, usually, between when he is able to get on and he’d never be able to go back and catch up on his limited schedule, especially when we all really get going! Thanks!

“It was noted that I wrote LONG posts and Squibby suggested that Lemon, who I had not yet met in “real” life, and I could be best friends. Lemon didn’t post for two days but once she did we were agreeing with each other on everything. At this time, a year and a half later, we are, indeed, BEST FRIENDS. Squibby hit the nail on the head. It made me sort of weepy. Posted by Lady Hawke on October 14, 2008, 07:33 AM"

Awwwww…. this made me SO weepy, myself! I love you, LH!!!!!! And I am so grateful every single day that you started posting when you did. {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}

CoolG I miss NightOwl too. :( And Squibby! But I am AWFULLY glad all you lurkers came out of the posting closet when you did. :) :) :) It’s hard to believe that was over a year ago already.

MissHagrid I am delighted that you are enjoying your suite! Chai tea is waiting just for you when you mosey down to my office. :)

Sirius I am really sorry about the broken foot, OUCH! And the plantar fasciitis, I have that too, in both feet, and it is miserable. (BTW that is the ONLY thing I can think of that a can of veggies or a pack of frozen ones would be good for! Also, try flexing your feet really hard, while lying flat on your back before you get up in the morning, that helps me a lot.) I was on crutches for awhile, then dealt with it, then crutches again, then the cortisone shots in the foot (I do NOT recommend those, by the way… plus they didn’t seem to help that much.) The doctor said the only other option was surgery, so I have decided that my feet are FINE and if I say it often enough and loud enough maybe it will come true. Try it and see if it works for you. :) In the meantime I am sending rapid healing spells your way, along with the daily dose of anti-Troll hexes and prayers for everything to come out all right for you. When do you hear anything about your situation, is it December now? I need to have my wand examined, I think, my spells are clearly not working strongly enough, or all of the time, or you’d be all set now. Hmph. Better get that handled ASAP!

Oh, MissHagrid sorry to hear you also have plantar fasciitis, it seems a lot of us do in this group. Doesn’t it suck to get old(er)? I am not copping to OLD yet. :)

Hey, MM, Wolfie wanted Ferris Bueller, too!! Even though she won’t be here, LOL. I think I own all the movies on the list so whatever we decide on works for me. :) Yay, a movie night, we haven’t done that in a long time!

Ironsos I’ll miss you so much, but have a fantastic time!! Tell us all about it when you get back, and be safe.

Oh, Nick on the changes… for some reason the “remember me” is not working for me, could it be because I am on a Mac? Also, one little thing that may or may not be important, but: before, if I typed a post in the message box as I was catching up, then copied it to paste to the next page as I was going along, and went to click to the next page, a warning would come up to remind me that if I changed pages I would lose all my text. Just a safety thing, but it doesn’t do that anymore… :) I am one of those people who may lose things that way, LOL.

OK, have to run, have a good night, you guys. I will probably be back later, but if not, be good and I will see you tomorrow!

Mistic

You had to do some digging to come up with Dark Shadows. That is close to 40 years old by now. I only ever saw a portion of the show about two times. I came on just as I was arriving home from school and my mother didn’t want me to watch it but I know it had sort of a cult following among some of the kids.

Just a quick hello, since I wound up falling asleep instead of popping back in here last night.

Lemon, neither of my computers have ever given me that warning about losing text when going to the next page…but it sounds like a great feature! It would have saved me many a lost post! :)

PB, if it makes you feel better, Grease and Dirty Dancing were actually tied for my second place choice. If we’re down to only picking one, though, I do have to go with Princess Bride. Sorry!

Mistic and LadyHawke, my dad was obsessed with Dark Shadows when he was younger, and several years ago, he got the full series (on VHS tapes, LOL) from a friend and had me start watching. I actually really enjoyed it. Most of the acting was pretty bad, but that was part of the fun – watching for all the mistakes (since they filmed on a soap opera schedule, most of what would normally be considered “Bloopers” were left in). And overall, the storylines were actually pretty intriguing. To this day, they still have fan conventions for the show, and several of the original actors still show up. :) Apparently Johnny Depp was a big fan and had planned to do a movie based on the series, but the last article I read said that it was on hold for now.

Okay, I’ve got to head out. So much for “quick” post! LOL

One of my cousins is one of those actors who still shows up at those conventions. She is old enough to be my mother and has lived in CA all my life so I don’t know her very well, mostly from attending family funerals.

Llady Hawke and Bookworm Jen, I have several Dark Shadow Movies from the actual show, I use to not be able to wait until the last bell rang in my senior year, so I could bust out the door, I would race my sister daisy, down the sidewalk through the sliding glass door infront of the TV set to watch Dark Shadows, which came on then at 3:30 pm, I was totally obsessed with that show, and still watch the movies now and then, I also have Quintins Theme, from the Blue Whale, I loved most of the Characters in the Show, some not so much!!!!

Oh I forgot to mention that the bell did not ring until 3:32pm, My High School was located about 2 blocks down from where we lived, and running we were there at a blink of the eye!!!!

Mistic – if anyone else endorses any of your choices I will add them to the list. OK? But do try to vote for the choices on the list. We need to have a vote for two movies on Saturday night. We are doing a marathon watching of movies on Saturday it is also a Slumber Party. :)

I am on vacation for the next three days. I am not going anywhere but I am spending some extra time with my aunts. I am enjoying their visit very much. :) They are not in my home anymore they went to my sister’s house. They will be at my brother’s house this weekend. I may get them back next week. Yeah!

MW, BWJ and LH, Dark Shadows was shown live on the East Coast. They did film it as it was shown for the West Coast repeat, but almost all soaps were essentially live performances.

I don’t know when they went to taping them, but from when they were on radio through at least the mid 70’s they were “live”. So they did not reshoot scenes unless half the actors passed out or were otherwise ill on camera.

When an actor wanted vacation or to go shoot a movie or something, they either wrote him/her out for a few episodes or they went into a coma. Frequently when the character came out of the coma another person was playing the role.

I think they still change acors in pretty much the same way. I do not nor have I ever watched soaps.

I take that back, I did watch “Soap” and “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” for about a season each. just not every episode. ;)

What Order are your aunts in? Do they live in the same convent? I suspect they are old enough to be “retired” so are they back at their Mother House?

If you only had one at a time you might find that they would be more laid back about keeping convent rules. Since they came to you as a package they may feel they are in the position to “police” each other.

My father had a very good friend who became a monk. He eventually left the monastary after many years and having been a full member of the Order. He was in town to visit my parents on a work related trip with little notice. It happened to be a Friday and my mother had made spaghetti and meat sauce for dinner. (My parents weren’t Catholic.) This was still in the days of meatless Fridays, even when it wasn’t Lent. He told them it was fine, that he would bless it and call it fish.

Afternoon all! I seem to be living on the computer! I am now up to date.

Deanie My Dr. uses the larger cuff on me. My 16yr old great neice reported feeling pain in her arm during BP testing when she was in hospital last year with a burst appendix.

Asti Yes, that was a scary end to Book 2 and I was glad I had bought the full set, (as I thought). “The Royal Oak” in Wootton Rivers is a wonderful old pub,half-timbered and thatched, in Wiltshire, and there were several other thatched cottages in the village. We only get occasional thatched roofs in Shropshire so I was thrilled.

Last night at 2.0pm I finished “Eclipse” and today my neighbour has lent me “Breaking Dawn”.

Must do something constructive!

It looks like we are going to watch Princess Bride and Dirty Dancing by the votes.

Mistic – I took your first two choices and place them on the list because I was asking everyone to give us two choices only.

PB – Do you have another choice? You only gave us one choice.

Wolfie and Margo the same goes for you too. You only gave me ONE choice.

It is OK if that is all you want to see and you do not like any of the other choices.

Cool Grandma

Good Morning Everyone

MM My vote will have to be for Dirty Dancing. I do have the DVD for that one. Once upon a time I had the VHS of the Princess Bride but it has disappeared into the netherlands. However I will lurk or watch it from your comments for anyone I do not have. I have done this before on Movie Night so no biggy. I find that the comments bring the movie back to memory so it’s enjoyable. Ghost is also a favorite. Hmm same actor in both. Lol

Mistic, BWJen , Lady Hawke, and Deanie Dark Shadows. Now that brings back memories. Kate Jackson made her acting debute in that one as a ghost. I remember reading somewhere that she said it was a good thing she was playing a Ghost because she was so nervous that she would shake. I also watched it about every day. I liked where they would be in modern times then go back in the past.

Talking about the soap operas being live in the beginning, I remember watching one of the earlier shows where one of the main characters who was suppose to be a romatic character was in a fight and his toupe came off. It was so funny. I couldn’t believe they actually showed it but since it was live, what could they do?Lol

Days of our Lives and the one that came on after it were the two that I use to watch. I remember we use to discuss it at school. They were fresh and new at the time so everyone was watching them. Later, I use to watch them on Friday. You could catch up with what had happened during the week just by watching on Friday. Then that sort of went by by. I was one that use to tape it on Fridays but then I didn’t have time to watch it. Lol Even now if it happens to come on and one of the older characters are on, I will watch it for a few minutes just to see how they have aged.

Lady Hawke I don’t like when you refresh it goes back to the top of the page. This could be a problem when we are playing games since you have to refresh so often. Lol It would slow down our posting but also seeing the question. By the time you scroll down and find the question, several people may have already answered. But wait, this happens already. Lol

It is good to see you but I am sorry you are in such pain.

Lemon is being diligent and is staying offline during the day until she has accomplished her lists of chores that need to be done. As a result she has missed you several times. She asked us to extend her regards to you and to say she is sorry her schedule is causing her to miss you when you show up.

Now, I have a day of errands in front of me. I hope everyone is well.
