Lol Jen..me too. It’s why it felt like a good time to get ready for work.

Oh, no, LH, that must have felt miserable! I remember it being troublesome to kneel in my great big dress, and getting up without treading on it, but our kneeler was quite well padded.

LOL Jen and Korey! You would have hated mine, then, and it sounds like LH’s, too. Our ceremony was over an hour long, and that’s not counting the songs and candle lighting and all that before I walked in. :)

I got married at the courthouse. It took 5 mins…

JEN and KOREY, the readings are a bit dry, especially when delivered with such grave dignity. The voices are very carefully modulated.

I am enjoying the choral offerings. My DS and I sang in a “High Church” Episcopal/Anglican choir for a time, complete with the piecrust collars.

LOL, korey, I’m glad I’m not alone. I typed and deleted a similar comment a few times because I felt bad, but it just kept going on and on. And then Maureen’s livestream broke for a little while, so I didn’t even have her amusing comments to keep me entertained. It’s back up now, so I’m better. :)

I had a half hour of violin and harp music before. I walked in and it went and hour from there. I suppose my wedding was very much like this one, well, minus the 1900 aristocratic guests and the Abbey and the Bishops and Archbishops, full choir, kettle drums and trumpets,etc. but as far as the form of the service went this was pretty much it.

I don’t know how our guests perceived our ceremony. I imagine it did drag on a bit, but we were pretty busy throughout, so it seemed to go by quickly for us. Besides the vows, songs, verses and prayers, we also lighted a Unity Candle, took communion, had a family binding ceremony since we already had LD before the wedding and recited our own vows on top of the traditional ones. It was a lot of ground to cover!

Her bouquet is tiny compared to Diana’s bouquet.

LOL, was that “My Country Tis of Thee”? Did America really take the song that we had to sing in school with the Pledge of Allegience each morning (as a supposedly very patriotic song) from a song that’s a patriotic British song?

LP was commenting on her bouquet. That’s about the size that LP wants, and I’m all for it. Mine was closer to the size of Diana’s and it weighed a TON. I was afraid I was going to drop it all the way down the aisle and couldn’t wait to hand it off to my maid-of-honor.

They have to go sign the registry, just as Charles and Diana did.

Evidently when they first reached the altar, William leaned over to speak to his new FIL and a lip reader says he said, “We were supposed to have just a small family wedding,” and made Michael and Catherine laugh, LOL. Good way to break any tension!

Catherine will be glad when all this is over, she looked rather tense, poor lamb.

GRAYMAYNE, I worried about Diana and I worried about her. With your nerves being so raw on a wedding day it is a bit worrying to be loaded in a car or carriage for a long ride to the church, the long ceremony, the long ride back. One wonders if there is access to a WC behind the altar while they disappear to sign the registry.

Maybe it is because I did not sleep well, if at all during the night, but I am looking at her and suspecting she did not sleep well. Whenever I NEED to go to sleep and sleep quickly it is almost a guarantee I will not sleep.

I did not sleep before my own wedding. I don’t sleep before traveling. Since I was so tired I was desperate to go to bed last night and then I couldn’t sleep. I started wishing for the night to end. My face hurts. I am going to wait for the kiss and then I think I’ll put myself to bed and watch the rest on my DVR later.
