Luch lurk. ;)

This computer is doing very strange things today. I may have to “waste” 20 minutes or so just shutting it down and rebooting. ;)

Kates dress is similar in style, but not in details or fabics, to the very first Barbie wedding dress from 1961 or 1962. I suppose that the Barbie dress was influenced by Princess Grace. ;)

Off to turn off the computer and reboot it. ;)

Bbl. ;)

Lady Hawke That hat was the one I spotted behind the Queen. I missed the arrival of most of the guests, silly me, because that part is not repeated.

My DS is home after his day out with the “lads”.

I’ve had two naps today and my face still hurts. I go take a nap and then have to get up to attend to something, like worrying about food for tonight or loading and unloading the dishwasher. At least I didn’t sleep all day. I shouldn’t have difficulties sleeping tonight but that is what I thought last night.

Morning all! I have just made up for missing the arrival of the guests at the wedding yesterday by reading the Telegraph newspaper online. There are lots of colour photos of hats, outfits and shoes. It makes a change from the endless jeans which have sullied the high street for ever.

I have to confess that I find Victoria Beckham’s sulky face seriously irritating.

Time for breakfast.

Hello from Vancouver, BC, everyone! LD and I are all nestled into our room at a beautiful hotel in downtown. We had a fabulous dinner in Bellingham, WA on the way up, I definitely want to take the DS back there some time. Lobster, prime rib, clam chowder, gorgonzola garlic cheese bread, milky way pie… I’ve had enough calories for a week and that was before we had a late night snack in the hotel bar, plus the chocolates in our room. sigh AND the health club was already closed when we got here, so no exercise today at all other than a quick walk around the block this evening. Still, it was totally worth it.

Tomorrow we’re heading to a couple area malls (LP will definitely want to come up here, there are designer stores all over the place), and possibly the aquarium before we go to dinner and the play. Sunday we’ll get a lazy start and head back, stop for dinner in Seattle and get home late evening. This is the relaxing version of a vacation, unlike what we’ll all experience in Florida, LOL. I’m enjoying it while I can.

Hope you all had a great day and everyone is catching up on sleep from the wedding. Talk to you all soon!

:)

GRAYMAYNE, I know nothing about the “Posh” girls and I do not know if that is something of the effect she habitually presents to the public but I was wondering why she even bothered to attend if her disposition was that sour, why she even showed up?

Also, I find Princess Beatrice’s headgear to be habitually beyond bizarre. The dress coat was lovely but the hat/fascinator was very strange from my perspecitive. You noted the unusual hat during the service but I’m wondering if, in a nation that does wear hats frequently, if your eyes saw what was on her head as particularly strange?

I may not know what is done and what is not but my impression is that Princess Eugenie needed someone to tell her to go back up to her room and start over. She does not appear to know how to dress herself to advantage at all.

I have found the Official Post Wedding posed photos and not on the Palace website. I had to do some searching.

http://www.popeater.com/2011/04/30/official-family-portrait-royal-wedding-william-kate/

People magazine also has photos of just about everything.

http://www.people.com/people/

I slept very hard last night so I feel much better now. I was in pain all day but it was worth it to watch with friends rather than watch the recording later.

LEMON, have a great time and a safe trip. A non-frantic trip sounds good right now.

Lady Hawke Thank you for the links, I have had an intense browse. To my mind far too many of those hats/fascinators would have been better kept for Ascot Ladies day, where imagination runs wild. Wild hats just look ridiculous at weddings, too attention-seeking when all eyes should be on the bride. I thought that Her Majesty set the perfect example here, her classic boater was smart but understated, mindful that, for a change, she was not centre stage at this event.

Victoria Beckham is currently pregnant and perhaps she was realising that her ridiculous, fashionable shoes were not advisable in her condition, but she rarely seems to smile.

The Princess Royal is usually suitablely turned out for every occasion but I thought the flowery lavender outfit was a poor choice. To be frank she is not wearing well and her outfit didn’t do anything for her at all.

I thought that Samantha Cameron, the wife of the Prime Minister, was entirely too casual, especially in view of the fact that her husband chose to wear morning dress. Nick Clegg’s wife did the opposite and wore a very loud hat, it must be her Spanish blood, lol.

How is your daughter, by the way?

Thank you, GRAYMAYNE, we are hoping for the best here. Last night her fever broke after being at 100.6 during the day. This morning she woke up saying she felt better, except for one side of her throat. After being up awhile she said her throat pain was coming back. So, we shall have to wait and see what this afternoon brings.

I meant to tell you another detail of the conversation we had with the lady from London we met in the hotel last Saturday. She told us she had ordered pancakes for breakfast the first morning of her tour and was certain she had been brought the incorrect breakfast when it was delivered and was shocked to find pancakes do not mean the same thing to her it does to us. She did say they have become the staple of her diet in the time she has been in the US. She has become quite fond of them and orders them every morning.

Did you see the photo of William and Catherine on the lawn of Buckingham Palace this morning? It was somewhat reminiscent of the first paparazi photo taken of Diana. You can definitely get a good idea of the length of her legs.

Listening to “IL Trovatore” on the radio (live from the Met.) Good stuff.

Enjoyed looking at parts of the wedding from yesterday. William taking Kate for a spin in
the Aston Martin was neat. Loved the learners plate on front of the car. The crowds reaction
to it was great to see.

IRONSOS, you would have enjoyed the music in the Abbey. I’m certain you can find it online all over the place. The Palace’s official website has it to watch again. English choirs with all those piping choir boys are marvelous.

Hi MISTIC, we’re expected to get more rain tomorrow. It may be headed for you.

I just looked. We are meant to have thunderstorms tonight tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday. One thing we don’t need around here is more rain. The Mississippi River, the Wolf River, and Nonconnah Creek are all in flood. Some residential and business areas are being evacuated. There have not been floods here since 1937.

The people east of here without proper shelter certainly don’t need days of rain and more potential tornado outbreaks.

Wotcher Ya’ll

Wouldn’t it be interesting if Prince Harry and Pippa became a couple?

Loved what I saw of the wedding. It is interesting to read the disection of what hats etc people wore. As I watched it didn’t occur to me to take much note, ie it really doesn’t matter to me; must be a male/female thing.

LH hope Little Hawk gets well soon and you avoid any flooding

have fun shopping Ironsos and hope you got back in time for the race.

The mayor of Shelby County, the county in which Memphis, TN is located, has announced that all residents of Shelby County need to be prepared to leave their homes and move to higher ground by Sunday evening. I find this hard to imagine. Since the Corps of Engineers has controlled the river Memphis has not flooded. It is high on a bluff and it just doesn’t flood. This is frightening.

I don’t know if we will be any better off as we live less than seven miles away from my parents although I am in another county in another state.

For anyone who might be interested, the car William & Kate took a ride in is a 1969 Seychelles Blue, Aston Martin DB6 MKII Volante Roadster. It is quite rare & valuable, especially in such pristine condition, and with such provenance. The Queen gave it to Prince Charles as a present on his 21st birthday.
