Wonder of Wonders!!! My child has a big reading project due in early December. It must be presented on a big Tri-Fold display board. Last year we had to send money to school to pay for them. Today they came home "FREE". No one asked for money. Something is wrong.

Okay, I took a minute and went and looked. The First Thanksgiving in VA was Dec. 4, 1619, ONE YEAR and 17 DAYS, BEFORE the Pilgrims LANDED, not before the Pilgrim’s Thanksgiving. So, the Thanksgiving in VA was two years before the one in MA.

Abraham Lincoln set the last Thursday in November as the Thanksgiving Holiday, probably to commemorate the Landing at Plymouth Rock. Before Lincoln the holiday was not widely or consistently celebrated. Obviously he was not going to celebrate anything that happened in a Southern State, So, he chose to honor the holiday by focusing on the version which occurred in a Northern State. Franklin Roosevelt, a descendant of several Mayflower passengers, changed it to the fourth Thursday in November in 1939. Virginia never had a chance.

Asti, I guess it makes sense that they want to make sure, but I still don’t see how it could possibly help. I didn’t take Tamiflu, so I’ve definitely got the immunity, and since the nasal spray version is supposed to be a live virus anyway, it doesn’t really make sense to force more viruses in me while my immune system is already weak. Of course, I’m the one who refused to let them use any needles, so I guess that’s my fault. ;)

Note that the timer only counts down when I’m actually writing. I pause it when i get the least bit distracted!
I’ll get through these two hours!

As far as I know, the story starts after the Weasleys help Harry through the platform in his first year. Instead of Harry finding a compartment with Ron, the Weasleys sort of stick together, and Harry is left on his own and befriends Neville.
Eventually I’ll throw Hermione in, at some capacity, more so than Ron will be in it. Harry ends up being really good friend with Katie Bell, and it grows into a relationship probably around fourth year or so.

I seeeeeeee – no Ginny?

I’m not sure where Ginny fits in at the moment…I was thinking about hooking her up with a Slytherin…
