Ironsos Found it, thanks! Not been able to do anything at Pottermore today:( Last night I was up at about 2.30am, the moon was very bright. I decided to read PS, Scholastic edition, to rock me off to sleep. It worked.

I have a different clinic to attend tomorrow and another clinician who will assess my arm movement problem.

Hey everyone!!
bangs my head on the wall because again I haven’t been here in a week
I could make a bunch of excuses about how school started and what not, but really I was just on Pottermore all week… (can you blame me?) ;)

About 3 weeks ago, I was hanging out with a friend of mine, telling her about how I was up at 4 am to get into Pottermore. I told her I was still waiting for the e-mail and that I just hoped it would come before school started, so I’d have a few days to play before having to worry about other things. Then I predicted that, with my luck, it would come on the first day of school just to mock me. On Tuesday, as I was leaving school, I told that same friend again that my e-mail would be waiting for me when I got home. Sure enough, I logged in as soon as I got off the bus, and there it was. I must have a strong inner eye. I should sign up for Divination…

I’m loving Pottermore. I was happy with the Sorting since I got the house I wanted, but I’ll put in a suggestion that they add some sort of choice as well. The potions are my favorite, but I don’t like having to wait so long for them to brew. I love the spells too, but I don’t go there too often because it’s so difficult to navigate around that page.

School’s not too bad. I’m taking 3 AP courses, but the teachers are nice and seem kind of fun, so they should be managable. Plus, I’m a senior so I can hang out in our new senior lounge during study halls and play on the Wii. :D

CONGRATS on the new baby Jen!!!!!! :D

And Congrats to your son also Asti!!!

I’m trying to do homework. It’s not working very well…

Good evening.

We’ve had a very pleasant, quiet day here.

It was touching to see on the many sporting events my DS managed to watch, every one started with a minute of silence in remembrance of the horrific attack 10 years ago.

I have been completely enchanted by a book………… it’s called Florence and Giles by John Harding. AVA AVA AVA AVA AVA AVA!!!! (I’M SHOUTING BECAUSE I REALLY WANT YOU TO READ IT!) Florence has her own version of the English language…….. a room that hasn’t been cleaned is "unbroomed.* A clumsy friend is relieved to be outside as it avoids the problem of “rug trippery.” I love Florencespeak! It’s a delightful extra in a pretty good story.

Graymayne, the new hair really suits you.

I am watching a movie about JK Rowling on the Lifetime Movie Channel. I didn’t know they had made a movie about her life.

Still no Pottermore for me. Still pouting! ;)

Graymayne I really like your new haircut! I love having “wash & wear” hair. ;)

Off to tend to other things. The Laundry Lion is still formidable, but at least it is mostly just my stuff. The DS has gotten pretty good at doing his own laundry. ;)

COOLG, it was too late for me last night. I just went through the schedule for Lifetime for the next nine days and did not find them repeating a movie about JKR. Is there a difference between Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Channel? I was looking on Lifetime and it shows some movies but also shows some repeat sitcoms like Will and Grace, How I Met Your Mother, or Reba, Desperate Housewives, and Project Runway, shows like that. Is that the same place you saw the JKR movie or is there actually a movie only channel?

DEANIE, my DS knows how to do his own laundry but he tends to power wash through all his laundry when I am desperate to wash a load for some specific need for my daughter or myself. I have pretty much stuck myself with the laundry job since I am the only one aware of all priorities in terms of who needs what and when.

Lady Hawke It was on the Lifetime Movie Channel. They did show it later. I’m sure it will show up again. It was really good. I just don’t know if I liked it so much because it was about Jo or if it was just a good movie. It was about her life from childhood until she sold her first book. Poppy Mongomery starred in it and she did a really good job protraying Jo. Lifetime and the Lifetime Movie Channel are different.

I don’t have my email either. I am getting a little aggravated about it too. It might be different if we didn’t have to jump thru so many hoops just to get registered.

COOLG, I’ve found the movie in seven parts on Youtube.

GRAYMANE, Thanks for the tips. Using a real mouse was the charm. I had done it so many times unsuccessfully with my finger I opened the door on the third try with a mouse.

Dear, dear, dear… I’ve had a rather ‘wistful’ weekend… I had a houseguest. A gal I once worked on a project with a few years back. She was in town to do a couple of ‘face to faces’. I put her up to save her a bundle on hotel $$$. She has been living off of savings for almost a year now. I was glad to do it. I just wish I was still in the loop so to speak. I would have drummed up ‘SOMETHING’ for her to do… I mean this woman has more degrees than a thermometer, and is cut of the right cloth… I would hire her in a heartbeat if I could. She asked if I could make a few calls for her, and I said I would… But you have to be careful about these things… I will have to give a bit of thought just who I will call, and more importantly, what I will say. I am just sitting here looking over her Resume… I can’t help but get the feeling I am holding a loaf of bread in my hands. Sadly these things have a ‘shelf life’ and if they are not ‘sold’ they will get stale… Ahhh geeze! this economy business just SUCKS… :+[

WON, it has to be terrible to feel such pressure and desire to help someone. I know things move so fast out in the technological and corporate world that you don’t stay fresh long. I hope your POTTERMORE email comes soon to help distract you a bit. Then, I hope you are Sorted where you want to go. Otherwise, the incorrect Sorting can eat into your brain pretty extensively.

Gosh! I’m blushing from all the compliments about my emergency hair cut and my DS’s ego has received a real boost, lol. I have to say that it is a real treat to comb through my hair and look neat and presentable in a few seconds first thing in the morning. My vacuum cleaner will be under considerably less strain now it doesn’t have long hairs to cope with.

My arms were put through their paces today and the next step will probably be to have an ultrasound scan of at least the worst shoulder to find out exactly what is going on inside the joint. I must see my own doctor in order to have the scans carried out at a hospital nearer to where I live because the referral arrangements by the clinic are a bit far flung. A scan is the best way to settle the various opinions – frozen shoulder, arthritis and something unpronounceable which sounded reasonable but I didn’t get the name, but it is a joint malfunction.

Time for bed, I lost an hour of my sleep in the middle of last night.

WON, that is what happened to my DS on Saturday. They must have let a large group in and it was Saturday or Sunday everywhere in the English speaking world. So, he had the dusting message almost all day long until evening when at least the UK had gone to bed.

Hi everyone!

I am completely exhausted, so this is just a quick hello. I’ve very barely skimmed through, but wanted to say thanks for the congrats. The full info on my niece (AH! Still not used to saying that, LOL!) is Makayla Alice, born 9/10/11 :) at 4:03am, 7lbs 15oz. She’s so tiny; the three boys were all in the high 8’s and low 9’s for weight, so she just seems so small compared to how they were. And her hair is looking reddish like my sister’s. :) I’m waiting on posting pics, because my sis wanted to be the first to put one up, but her phone wasn’t uploading to FB properly. She just got home tonight, so once she puts something up, I’ll go ahead and share.

I had a lot of fun with my nephews all weekend, but I am very happy to be sleeping in my own bed tonight, and to be able to sleep soundly. I just never let myself fall into a deep sleep over there, because I was worried about not hearing the boys if they got up for anything. So I’m off to bed now, nice and early.

Good Evening Everybody!!!!
Congradulations Auntie Jen!! Makayla Alice is a very lovely name indeed!!!! I just got off work, and my right foot is hurting a bit!!! I had 3 – 11pm tonight!!!! but I am off tomorrow and Wednesday!!!! which is my daughter’s 30th birthday!!!!! Believe it or NOT!!! and I had her when I was 29 years old!!!!! Yes I am 59 years old and proud of it!!!!!! I just put another ink in my printer I realize I had to do this when it printed a blank page before I left for work!!!!! the good news is that I got 10% off the price since printer Ink is NOT CONSIDERED REAL FOOD!!!!!! I don’t get a discount if anything is considered REAL FOOD, but junk food like Candy Bars, Chips, Popcorn, and things that are not really good for you to eat. Now items like toilet paper, Laundry Soap, shampoo, etc I do get a discount!!!!! lol and these days every little bit helps!!!!!

Welcome to Makayla Alice!! And I hope you get a great night’s sleep, Jen. Born on 9-10-11, wow, LOL. No one will have any trouble remembering her birthday, ever!

Won I hope you’re able to get in to Pottermore soon, the dusting is so frustrating, especially after waiting so long for your letter. :(

Good to see you, MM!!!!

I spent the entire day working on my latest character name list. I’m condensing it, hoping to get it into a printable level. It started out at over 1200 pages gasp and should get down to less than 600 (I still have about another 100 to go through), but that’s way too many to print still. But I really like having a paper copy to flip through rather than having to scroll endlessly through such a huge document on the computer. It’s a very thorough one, with all the name meanings and variations, so should be useful. I have a 60 page, five column per page one I compiled myself with the names divided up by time period and group (Medieval Viking, Medieval Celtic, etc.), plus lots of surnames, but it’s nowhere near as complete as this one, nor is it alphabetized like this one is, so that’s a drawback. Then I have all the ones I’ve scribbled on bits of paper fro movie credits or wherever. I really cannot wait until all this is sorted.

Because of that, though, my eyes are really bugging out, so I am calling it an early night. Hope everyone is well! :)

Quick hi! My sister posted pics last night, so I’ll grab some of them and post after work tonight. New girl is still at my desk (she’s over with someone else for a moment, so I jumped on quick) – we’re still waiting for them to bring us another desk so I can move into my new office. At this point, I don’t mind waiting until next week. Once I get through today, Thurs she’s going to be out visiting stores and she’s off Sat, so I’ll feel back to normal for a couple of days.

Managed a solid 1/2 hour on Pottermore last night before getting bounced off again. Got my wand… 14 1/2 inch Pine with Unicorn Hair, unyielding… PINE! The last wood I ever would have chosen… This does not bode well for my sorting I fear! Got a trunk full of ‘stuff’ already, and I am only 5 chapters in. What do you do with all this junk?

Won Have you read Jo’s description of wand woods and wand cores? Lots of the stuff that can be found hidden in the Moments can be used during the mixing of potions.

Okay, new girl has gone to lunch, and I’m not taking one because I’m leaving early to go to my sister’s for when my nephew gets off the bus. This is middle nephew, not the ones I was with all weekend. He made me feel quite guilty yesterday when he called to tell me about his first day of kindergarten, asking why I hadn’t been there to see him ride the bus for the first time. Today my sister has class, and she’s not sure if she’d make it back home in time for the bus, so I’m going to head over.

Asti, congratulations to your son; that’s very impressive! Will he have additional responsibilities as Junior Captain, or is it mainly just an honorific title?

CoolG, I’m glad you were finally able to get the drain problem fixed. I miss my garbage disposal – it’s one of those things I took for granted growing up and didn’t realize how useful it was until I moved out; neither of the apartments I’ve lived in have had one.

Oops, she’s back
