Hi asti of course the offer still stands . . . . I love helping people out with CV’s and stuff so happy to get involved. CV’s have changed a lot in the last few years. I’ll send you a copy of my CV so you can have a look at it as this is considered the modern format with a personal profile and skills section. I’m around all over christmas (just at my christmas) so if any guidance is needed then give me a call.

Also I have never heard of the 20p kindle books . . . . .cant believe I am missing out on such a good deal. Are they good quality books? I’ve had a look at a few self published books for 50p-£1 and a lot of them have been dreadful. I think I was spoilt when I ordered lemons books as they read really well and I thought that other self published books would be a similar quality. But a lot of them arent.

ASTI, I have absolutely everything crossed for your DS. I’m sending prayers and white light and anything else positive I can think of in hopes this phone call becomes a new job very swiftly.

WOLFIE, we can talk whenever is convenient to you. I already have all LEMON’s phone numbers so that would be fine.

We are all home now until next Thursday. The holidays have begun. I do have to go clean my mother’s house tomorrow so it will look okay for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Wolfie, if you don’t mind, that would be extremely useful to use as a template, and as guidance, thankyou. xx
And I learned early on not to trust most self published books. The high standard of Lemon’s writing is the exception. And, if I may say so, your writing too. There are some shockers out there!
I will send you the link to the 20p book page.

Thankyou,Lady Hawke, me too. It does sound fairly promising.

thats a nice compliment asti although if you’d told me my writing was of a high standard this weekend I would have laughed hysterically. I was trying frantically to do some edits and it was not going well at all . . .I had a bit of a hysterical tempremental artist moment :-)

BTW I’ve been meaning to share some good news with you. My friends boyfriend has a very small publishing company. I sent her a copy of my book to have a look at and she passed it on to him and he is very keen to publish it. Thats why I’m frantically editing at the moment as I need to be done by Feb if we are going to have a september release. He’s a very small, newly established company so it wont be massive, just a few hundred on the first print run – but still I’m very excited about being published. I havent mentioned anything previously because I felt a bit uncomfortable that its a friends boyfriend and somehow I’ve cheated the system . . .lemon has assured me that its networking not nepotism and I should be happy about it. I was planning to self publish as I’m a bit of a control freak, but i kind of like the idea of having something physically published so I’m going to see what happens. The owner of the company is passionate about publishing, but understanding of what I want to write so I think we will work well together. . . so watch this space :-)

BTW – CV on its way

And OH WOW!!!!! That is incredible, amazing, and wonderfully exciting! I am so happy for you. Please keep us up to date with how it goes, and don’t forget to let us know the date of publication. I’ll be first in the queue to buy it…. that’s just fantastic news. xx

Ironsos I give the youngster (as she was then) full marks for good diction, not something that seems to be in favour today.

Wolfie Hi diddly dee, an author you will be. Well done! I’ll be right in line behind Asti.

My post and photos of our Solstice lunch are at cc. If you go to my personal album you can click on Large at the top of the page for a better view of the goodies.

Off to watch QI.

You know, Wolfie, I’m actually flattered that being insulted by you has made it so far up in your hobbies list! And I’m very, very sorry that I have been away having a life and taking away from your fun (and leading to the misery of others!)
Also, congrats on the publishing news!

Sadly, I’m also going to have to agree with you, this apocalypse has been a dud! I’ve been practicing for it by playing zombies mode on Call of Duty and I’ve caught up on “The Walking Dead” and even started watching the British show “Survivors” hoping to learn some tips for the future…

Asti I’m crossing my eyes hoping for good news for your DS! I don’t know how long I can keep this up, though.. ;)

Also, I’ve popped in three times in three days. What kind of madness is this?!

I know asti isnt it amazing. I was a little bit giggly and excited when she told me. To be honest I sent the book to my friend because she’s a real savage book critic (absolutely lovely in every other way and one of the kindest people I have ever met – but is a really critical reader and will tear a book apart if she doesnt like it . . . BTW she hates Harry potter!). The best I hoped for was that she would just say that it was OK . . and that she didn’t hate it. That way I could justify continuing to write. But she really liked it and said that she spent all day at work thinking about it and couldn’t wait to get home to read more. I was hard to believe that someone felt that way about something I’d written . . . .even if she is the only person who ever feels that way then I’ll be perfectly happy. I was worried that her boyfriend was just publishing it because we’re friends, but apparantly he rejects books all the time and was quite honest with me when he told me that the margins are so low in publishing that he couldnt afford to publish something that he didnt think would sell . . .he has also had quite a few friends of friends submit books to him and he’s had to reject them all.

Hopefully the book should be out in September with a sequel planned for the following Year. Because its YA literature if you have a book series you have to publish them year on year otherwise you can lose the audience. It means that I have to finish the first book for Feb and then have the 1st draft of my second book complete by September so it can go through editing in preparation for release the following year . . … so it means my beta reader might be a little busy :-) obviously you’ll get full credit in the book.

At least I have 2 confirmed sales from you and graymayne :-)

I also need to set up a website so I can start to promote it . . . i think I am going to be Very busy next year

BTW I am loving TV today – the SyFy channel is full of doomsday films .. its amazing

PB if you dont stop being so cheeky then even further up my hobbies list will be tying up PB and throwing giant rock cookies at his head until he cries like a little girl

I agree the apocalypse has been such a massive disappointment. I thought it was going to be zombies that where going to do us in too (non of this alien nonsense that everyone keeps going on about). I’ve be watching zombieland to prepare (and secretly hoping that I’ll meet Woody Harrelson in my own zombie adventure) and I bought an extra loaf of bread at the supermarket just in case they surrounded the house. Its all been for nothing . . .just a waste. I am lauging at the people who quit their jobs though. How stupid are they going to feel when they have to go back to the office after christmas still alive and kicking.

I’m off to make some toast. If god gives you an extra loaf of bread then turn it into toast (thats my new motto)

Wolfie hmph, I would not cry like a little girl. It’d be more of a pitiful sobbing like a little girl.

Zombieland would have been a great scenario. and with Twinkies being all but extinct at the moment, a very real possibility. I was more hoping to meet up with Emma Stone along the way. I do love a redhead (but she’s proved that she can pull off any hair color flawlessly).

I’m liking your new motto.

PB I can imagine the sobbing and it is indeed pitiful.

I heard the sad news about twinkies. My brother loves them and managed to have a box sent over from the US last year. He forced me to eat one and while I love lots of American foodstuff (fluff and reeses chocolate being a particular favourite) the twinkies where vile. I remember biting into it and once it was in my mouth not really knowing what to do with it. My brother said I went a bit green. – but they were really expensive to ship over so he wouldnt let me waste it by spitting it out.

Maybe we can go on a joint zombieland adventure – you can take Emma and I’ll take Woody. Imagine how much fun we’d have? I’d be making toast, you’d be sobbing all the time . . .fun times :-)

Oh come on, how can you not love twinkies?! Okay fine, I liked them but they’re not AMAZING.. I feel like I remember this Twinkie story of yours, but I’ve been so neglectful, how could I?

I think a zombieland adventure would be pretty awesome. I bet we could take all of the rock cookies MMM has ever made and they’d last forever… Longer than even Twinkies would.

PB would we be eating the rock cookies or throwing them at the zombies? I have a tactical idea – we feed the zombies the cookies. The zombies break their teeth on the cookies and then all they can do is gum people to death . . which would just be stupid. We win – END OF APOCALYPSE whoo hooooo! Woody whisks me away for a holiday in Hawaii (I’ve always wanted to visit – one of the boys I manage is going there on his honeymoon next year. I;ve been trying to convince him to take me with him – he thinks his girlfriend wont be happy !!!!) anyway Emma whisks you away to your dream location . .. .we sell the film rights and become millionaires. THE END

asti you make a fab beta reader. I’m hoping to have some more stuff for you after christmas :-)

Pouts and cleans up my couch

Wolfie that sounds like a solid plan all around. I doubt we would eat the cookies, as we’d scream in pain trying to bite into them, which would in turn alert the zombies to our location. I think Emma and I will take a Christmas in New York. We’re splitting the money 70-30, right? I mean, I’m the one who thought to use rock cookies in the first place….
And why wouldn’t his girlfriend be happy that he is making your dreams come true by merely hiding you in a suitcase?

PB, I have never had a Twinkie. I now feel deprived.

You both have fun with your apocalypse…… I have to go to bed. I was supposed to have a lie in this morning, but SOMEONE left the hallway door open, so I was woken at 8.15 by a purry cat.

Love to everyone. See you tomorrow

asti you are not being deprived in anyway . . imagine a greasy mini version of a swiss roll . .thats a twinkie. . . yuck

*PB too right, I think his girlfriend would love to have me tag along on her honeymoon. I’ve tried persuasion tactics, crying, shouting – but nothing has worked so far. I might have to exert my influence as a manager and bully him into taking me along. Thats the only reason I agreed to be a manager in the first place so i have the power to force people into doing my bidding (I fashion my management style on Ming the Merciless).

and . . definitely no – there is no 70/30 split in this scenario. Fer crying out loud your only contribution has been the girl sobbing and the rock cookies. Without my apocalyptic ninja expertise you’d be sucking on a rock cookie while a zombie knaws on your (tiny boy) brain. I was the one that defeated the zombies, wrote the film and got us good looking boyfriends and girlfriends. Honestly the youth of today you want owt for nowt (thats a traditional yorkshire saying that means you want everything without putting in any hard work to get it) . . .honestly you’ll be lucky to get 10% the way your going

WOLFIE, I am excited over the idea of one of us having a real book with real pages since I don’t have an e-reader of any kind and can’t purchase ebooks. I CAN, however, purchase an actual book with pages. Put me in line for one as well.

I must say, after all the hype, today has been quite a quiet day for an Apocalypse. It was bright and sunny and never did look threatening in any way. Granted it is dark now but the whole concept sort of fizzled. It even lost steam on Facebook.

I wish I could send all of you copies of my school’s literary journal that I was published in last semester. I only got a few copies, though. It’s pretty cool, because people are published internationally in our journal; both students from our community college, outside contributors and the occasional published author/poet. I’m still waiting for it to go online so I can share with you all.

Push my percentage up near 50 percent!? I should be getting that right off the bat, with how amazing I am. Those rock cookies won’t take all the zombies out! And I’ll be out there with a crossbow taking out the rest of them using arrows I’ll carve myself! Without me you’d be zombie food in under a week!

The “Buy now with 1 click” button is very, very naughty. Perhaps that is why w all hit it so often. ;)

Wolfie put me on the list to buy one of your books, too. ;)

Lady Hawke please send me all the pen names for both LemonFaerie and Rhiannon on Amazon. Every time I think about getting one of their books, I am not in a position to look the information up. I will print your email and stick it in my purse. Looking for the list will also remind me to clean out my purse. ;)

PotterBoy be sure to give us the link when it does go online. If not here, then at CC. ;)

I am off until Wednesday!! I do have to go to therapy on Monday, but I moved it back to 11:00 instead of 8:00. Next Friday, I have therapy at 7:00 am, but it is the last visit and I expect they will do a lot of "follow-up stuff. So I have taken the same amount of time off work to allow the extra time there. ;)

New Years Eve I wil work until 2:00 pm and then I will not return to work until the 7th. ;)

I really need to get the actual dates for the family reunion in February. I need to put in for the days off. Yes, this far in advance. It seems that my “supervisor” is having difficulty determining how many people can be out at the same time. So only the first 2 get advanced approval. I need to make sure I anm one of the first 2. ;)

Off to the better chair. My back has been hurting, off and on, with increasing frequency for the last week. ;)

PB, & Wolfie, I was never a big fan of Twinkies. I’ve always found them to be rather plain & drab as snack cakes go… A cylindrical piece of yellow sponge cake (more sponge than cake really) with a dollop of chemically concocted ‘creme filling’ piped in the center. All immersed in sufficient amounts of preservatives that several have been discovered still pliable and mold free many years after baking! (not an exaggeration) I much preferred Hostess “Ding Dongs” and “Ho-Ho’s”. There IS good news on that front BTW… ‘Little Debbie’ brand has started producing clones of those lovely delicacies that are surprisingly good, and also surprisingly low priced. I have one box of each here, right now, and am going to attack them after I finish writing this. >:+]
