Asti I have downloaded your recommendation although I will be in rather unfamiliar territory, lol. The book which was demanding my attention yesterday was The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Extence. You can read the first two chapters in the “Look inside” to test the writing style. This is a very personal and intense account of a young boy growing from child to man in rather unusual circumstances, battling school bullies and an accident-induced illness. He is obviously very bright and thrives on facts which he feels need to be explained to his readers, so this is not a quick read, but I was totally absorbed. Not everybody would be comfortable with the closing few chapters.

We made an order a few days ago and it was shipped UPS. I was watching the tracking on it. It arrived in Memphis at 11:15 this morning. The airport is about ten minutes from our house is next to my DS’s office. Midafternoon it left for Jackson, MS which is about 3.5 hours from our house. It will have to be driven back to Memphis tomorrow.

Apparently UPS tracking has no idea that my town in Mississippi is adjacent to the airport in Memphis. Instead they flew it to the airport in the capitol city of Mississippi so it could driven back to us.

We would have liked to have had our package tonight.

I am not having much luck with UPS either as of late. A set of headphones arrived in Salt Lake City on the 2Oth.
Yesterday I E-mailed Amazon and they gave me a refund on my card. I also ordered a book on the same day and
it has yet to be shipped. This is the first time that I have had problems.

Morning

I was logged out when I clicked on my window. This is strange. At least I was able to log back in.

I fell asleep last night while watching my show. This hasn’t happened in awhile. So naturally I have been awake since around 5 this morning. I just looked outside and it is light outside. The dogs are wanting out again. I hope the ground is still frozen so they won’t track in.

I put up a temp wall with ……. forgot what they are called. You know things you use to cover stuff outside to keep them dry. They are blue but mine happen to be white. Anyway I put it up this winter to keep some of the cold out when I open the door at the top of the stairs. It did a good job so I think I will put up a real wall this spring. I will put up a 6 foot bi fold doors so I can have it open when it gets warmer outside. I think I will keep the smaller mud room heated next winter so I can keep the dogs downstairs when they get on my nerves. I love them but this winter has made me want somewhere else for them to be instead of under my feet all the time. It has been too cold in the mud room to keep them there this winter.

I must be feeling better. I just realized I have made a list of things for me to do this spring with my spring cleaning.

I looked at the weather and it is suppose to be rainey and cold on Easter Sunday. I was just wondering what I was going to wear. I guess it won’t be light things. Maybe I can find some spring like colors with my winter clothes.

Ironsos I was going to order a mini cam for my moniter. Since I have been skyping with my granddaughter, she is insisting I get the video cam so she can see me. I will order it anyway from Amazon since they have a good replacement policy in case things go wrong with the delivery.

Lady Hawke That has happened to me a few times but it is usually the other delivery ( the one Tom Hanks worked for in the movie where he was stranded on an island for 4 years ) instead of UPS when it does. Shoot I might as well stop writing since I seem to have a problem remembering the name of things today.

I just checked. Our package is now on a truck being driven back to our house from 200 miles away.

COOLG, the other service you are speaking of is the one for whom my DS works. My DS and I worked for two days on the Tom Hanks movie. We were in the scenes where he arrives home and there is a party going on for him when he arrives back on the plane. Our scenes were cut. When Helen Hunt takes him to the airport on Christmas night and kisses him goodbye all that is across the street from my DS’s office. UPS is very close to the same location. So, our package was in walking distance of my DS yesterday. Apparently they both need to work harder at recognizing what distribution cities are actually closer to the locations to which packages are being shipped.

Lady Hawke Now that you reminded me, I remember you talking about being in the movie. I think I have it on DVD so I will look to see if I can find you in the deleted scenes. I hope I still have it. My grandsons took some of my DVD’s when I lived with them. I still can not remember the name but I remember Wilson. Lol

My package from Amazon arrived Monday. Since I opted for the slowest delivery method, I was not expecting it until tomorrow or Friday. I don’t know if it was routed through the Atlanta airport or the Macon airport. ;)

Aloha y’all! ;)

Work lurk. ;)

OMG! How long has it been since I dusted? I found the DVD but along the way I found dust dust dust! Where did it all come from? Have I sat down after sweeping and mopping and forgot to dust? I figured it out. It must be because the furnace is working again. It is blowing dust from the vents. I cleaned out all the vents last fall but have not since. My furnace did not work most of the winter so dust must have settled in the vents. Now that I have thought about it, I use to have a lot of dust at the Lake because of the furnace. I will have to remember to dust every week again. Now I know why I use to dust every 2 or 3 days.

Sally must be feeling better… She sent me this link with the message that “As an engineer I know you will appreciate this, although it is a bit larcenous, no?. Is this what you were like when you were in university?”

Although it is in French, if you do not speak it, I am sure you will get the gist of what this aspiring engineer is up to! lool…

Hi everyone – its been a while . . . .sorry for being away so long I’m just so busy at the moment I havent got a minute to spare. Work is crazy. In fact I had to laugh at myself last friday because I finished work at 7.30pm and was excited because I’d finished so early and had the whole night free!!!!

Anyways I’m looking forward to spending the easter break in Ireland at the Gort book festival which should be exciting and in even more exciting news I have a meeting this evening with the book cover artist to finish off the final cover design for my book. Its looking pretty impressive . .she sent me 5 concept designs and they were all so good I struggled to choose between them. After much deliberation I have finally decided on my favourite. Looks like the launch is all set for September. Its just about to go into copy editing which means no more changes which is scaring me a little . . its like giving my child away :-)

Hope everyone else is well.

Good evening!

We’ve just caught up on the final episode of Series 2 of Game of Thrones! The third series starts here this weekend. I am continually impressed by how close it stays to the book, and how very well it translate to screen. Almost as if it was written with that in mind…….

I had a meeting after school about daughters trip to France at the end of next month. There was a lot of over excited 9 and 10 year olds! They’re going to have a great time……..a trip to various places of historical interest, like the Bayeaux Tapestry, and a WW2 Memorial, and also a lot of chances to interact with real people; a trip to a market, to a cheese makers…… I am really excited for her!

Wolfie, I am so excited for you! Looking forward to updates and pictures, xx And it is A VERY GOOD BOOK!!!!

Graymayne, The Universe versus Alex Woods has been on my wish list for a while, I am just waiting for it to become a bit cheaper! I do hope you enjoy A Load of Old Bones, I think the quirky humour and tongue in cheek narrative will appeal to you.

Won, I admit that I haven’t watched your link yet, but I am so pleased that Sally made contact. Even at a distance, you have obviously been a great support. It is good to know that she is feeling brighter. xx

On another note it appears Wolfie’s e-mails to cc have been hacked. Just received a couple. I am
wondering if cc itself has been hacked since Sirius B had the same problem earlier.

thanks Asti you are and alway will be my most enthusiastic cheerleader. The book artist told me after our last meeting that she really enjoyed the book as well. It was nice to hear as she is the first non friend/family member to read it :-) Fingers crossed that other people feel the same way too.

I’m just trying to write a book synopsis to go onto the publisher website and I also need to do my bio. I’m managing to make myself sound really boring and more than a bit nerdy.

Hi coolg :-)

I just changed my password so hopefully it will solve the problem. I havent been on Yahoo for a couple of weeks and tonight was the first time I checked my emails. Literally a couple of minutes after I finished I had a message from asti saying I had been hacked. . .. not sure if it was linked to CC but I did read a number of CC related emails?

Morning all! We have a sunny morning for a change but the temperature is just below freezing.

Re strange emails I have received one from Wolfie and one from Asti ostensibly but the first one simply contained a link to an article and video advertising Green Coffee Beans. The second only contained a link which I ignored and then deleted the email. Is it possible that these stem from Sirius’s original hack?

I guess I was not hacked after all. My name was in the “sent to” line not the “from” line.

Changed some passwords anyway. Not sure if Sirius’s e-mail was first one hacked or not but
I am fairly sure that it happened at cc due to the people the adware was sent to.

Considering it is 3:17 am my time I guess I should hit the sack.

Morning

Anyone who knows me knows that I could not just send a link to something. I have always been accused of sending letters instead of emails. It is true. I can not just send a couple of sentences. Something happens and before I know it, I have written a letter. Whenever I receive an email with just a link no matter who it is, I delete it. I have from the beginning of using email how many years ago has that been? I know it was dial up so I didn’t spend a whole lot of time on the internet back in the 80’s. I remember you had to buy a program just to get on to the internet. In the beginning email wasn’t a big deal because not a lot of people had computers let alone email accounts. Then suddendly everyone had computers and email became a big deal. I have had the same hotmail account since hotmail came out. Of course it wasn’t my main email account until the late 90’s. After I lost everyone’s email account on my computer, I started using the hotmail as the main one. I never lost the email addresses again.

Speaking of email, I need to delete a lot of things. I haven’t done this in awhile. I need to do Yahoo too.

Wolfie I love sci fy books. Also paranormal which I would classify Harry Potter books. The best ones have a little romace in them too. Stephen King and Dean R. Koontz were my favorite authors. The good news is now I can see so I will be able to purchase your book. Of course I would like an Ebook too.

The Host is coming out on Friday. I have read this book so many times. I know the movie will not do it justice. How can it? Now Stephanie Meyers is talking about writing the rest of the series. It was suppose to be a trilogy in the beginning. I will probably wait until after the weekend to go see it. I usually do. Also Jurassic Park is coming out in 3D on April 5. This is one of my favorite movies so I am debating going to see it in 3D. Two movies within a week of each other that I want to see in the theater? A first for me. I will probably go by myself since everyone will be so busy. I know don’t have to wait until someone can go with me. It is hard but I can follow signs to find my way around in the theater.
