Huff The timers where I work are set to 10 minutes with no activity. The corridors and elevators do not have timers on the lights, but it is wierd to walk into the ladies room and have the lights flip on as you open the door. ;)

Good to see Adella and PotterBoy! ;)

Graymayne I agree with Ironsos. It might be possible to just replace the seal strip. I know that has been an option on the refrigerators that we have owned. It is a lot less expensive than buying a replacement. ;)

Actually, GRAYMAYNE, I will “third” what IRONSOS and DEANIE suggested. I would imagine you could have the insulation strip replaced instead of replacing the entire refrigerator unless it has other issues and this is the last straw.

I have all my machines going at once, the dishwasher, the clothes washer and the dryer.

My mother is reading THE CUCKOO’S CALLING and she is enjoying it. It is the genre she regularly reads. I told her I was giving her the new JK Rowling book but, somehow, she missed what I was saying and was telling me she had never heard of the author of the book she was reading. I had to tell her it was JKR and that was the one I was excited for her to read.

Good evening!

I’ll add my smiles and thanks to all the messages last night. Reading them all almost made me late for work, and certainly put me in a happy mood!

I’ve just seen your message, Lady Hawke, and I realise that I forgot to say that I had finished the book.

SPOILERS BELOW, BE WARNED! IGNORE IF YOU HAVE NOT READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did enjoy it, very much, especially Cormoron himself, a very well developed and thought out character. I thought the rest of the characters were pretty flimsy, and she could have done more with Robin. She was a bit wishy washy and almost twee. The plot itself I found far fetched and unlikely. I will happily read any follow ups, but this is certainly not going on any list of favourite books. It was a good, light read, but the only depth to it was Mr. Strike himself.
What surprised me most, and I’ve said this before, was the difference in her writing style. I would never, ever have known from reading it that it was by JK.

Ironsos, Deanie, Lady Hawke The wisdom of friends is infinite, I had no idea that fridge seals could be replaced! I don’t remember when we bought the fridge, before or after we moved here. It could be eighteen years old or more and seems to be working efficiently apart from that, everything now depends upon the availability of the specific seal. I see there are videos online showing how to replace them. I wasn’t impressed by the fridges I was looking at because many had one less shelf than mine, and most had the door shelves made of see-through plastic which struck both of us as potentially fragile. My door shelves are heavy duty, bearing small pots of sauces etc. You might well have saved us an unnecessary expense:)

SPOILER FOR THE CUCKOO’S CALLING!!!!!

I had myself convince the brother’s large, mannish, awkward, ugly girlfriend was actually a man in drag. I thought he/she killed the sister to keep her hands on the brother’s inheritance. As indicated previously I don’t read this genre so I had little to no idea of what to expect of it. I will definitely read the follow up book but I do hope she settles into this and develops the characters more fully.

oh my god hello! um I used to talk to a few people on here something like five years ago and on one of those 4am whims which you should never follow because you have to get up for work in two hours, I dug up my old username and thought I’d have another look at Leaky. I really just wanted to say hello and I hope everybody is doing well :)

Heya rambling man, welcome (back??) I have no idea if I was one of those people because I have a notoriously bad memory, but perhaps someone here with a slightly better memory can help us out on this one!

Ahhh, now that I’ve posted twice in a row, I see Adella posted a few times saying things along the exact same lines as my post…
Also, Barnes and Noble lists The Casual Vacancy at the location across town from me but I’m too poor at the moment to purchase it. Sadface.

Ironsos in the link you posted the other day, I like how that kid got a B- on the flag design UNTIL it was chosen as the official flag. Interesting!

We have had very few men in this corner in the last ten years, and rambling man isn’t one of them.

There was Margo too. I think most of our people can tell us something about themselves that we would recognize. Maybe she’ll come back and tell us something personal we would remember.

Hmm I may have to find my notes from our corner. No name as Rambling Man but I do have the other screen names and their avatars. I know I put them in a box to file them away. It’s my list so I could remember who everyone was.

Margo is on FB so it probably is not her. Mishee use to come back every once in awhile so I think she would remember her screen name since it was unusual. So was her avatar. I would just need something as a trigger and I could remember who they are if they posted regularly. We do have a lot of the old time regulars on our page on FB. Trouble is I got so use to their actual names I have trouble remembering their Leaky screen names now.

I finished the book about dino’s. It actually is very good. I finally was able to tell who each person was after they had enough book time. I need to do my house cleaning and packing. I had to finish the book before I could do anything else. I guess that means it was exciting and well written. Lol I actually could imagine it as a movie as I was reading it. That is a good sign of a well written book when you can see it happening in your mind as you are reading the pages.
