IRONSOS, do you mean hotdogs and milk individually or as a combination?

This is another Pep Rally day, “Think Pink”, must be for breast cancer awareness. The daughter is going to school in Pink Steampunk, minus the black and pink corset. She found another appropriate top that looks appropriate.

We have been out to lunch today and I was in tune with your daughter’s school, wearing a deep, bluey-pink jumper with toning bracelet. We visited my favourite restaurant, The Riverside Inn, and gazed at the calm River Severn gently flowing past. We were treated to variegated weather from pleasant sunshine to sharp showers and back again. There were some signs of Autumnal colours but the majority of trees are still stubbornly green, and several fields are turning green with the newly sown crops. We drove home by a different route just for fun, crossing over the river and passing through Ironbridge, becoming slightly disorientated in Telford, arriving home after the bulk of the junior school children had been ferried home. I am now ready for a snooze.

Lady Hawke: As a combination. As a kid I used to dunk my hotdog and bun in the chocolate milk. I have
at least stopped doing that.

Meatloaf is in the crockpot. Sure smells good.

Are you going to add some veggies to go with it or are you cooking those in the microwave? One of the nice things about slow cookers is you get the aroma of something cooking in the oven.

I am going to put a pork roast in my crock pot. You put me in the mood. I went out and dug a pork roast out of my freezer and it is defrosting now.

Naptime sounds wonderful!! I may not get mine this evening. We have a friend who is undergoing outpatient surgery today and she cannot go home without someone there to assist her. She is widowed, so the DS took her to the surgery center and will then take her to our house for the night. We can make sure she is not having adverse effects from the drugs and take her to the emergency room if she does have difficulty. ;)

Lady Hawke Brown Recluse bites can (rarely) be very bad for quite some time after the outward signs are gone. Make sure her doctor is taking it seriously enough, without being overly alarmist. Decent common sense care and watching may be all that is required. Of course, “rare” is the kind of stuff that happens to you and me. I hope not this time. ;)

Being the youngest of 3 girls, I never got that particular situation with my father, but my first “foundation” garment just showed up in my Christmas presents when I was 11. I do know that it was something of a big deal for the eldest sister. The first one always has to run interference for the younger siblings. ;)

I preordered the latest Heroes of Olympus book by Rick Riordan. It just popped up in my Kindle and various reading apps a couple of days ago. So that is what I am currently reading. It’s not bad. ;)

Lady Hawke: I did add some potatoes to the crockpot. Followed directions and put them on the bottom.
May microwave a veggie if the mood strikes me later.

I fixed a beef roast with carrots and potatoes the other day. Jennifer came by yesterday to have some for dinner. Today I am making veg. beef soup with the left overs. It is almost done thank goodness. It is really smelling good.

It is raining today. Getting cooler. Enough the furnace is running. My two daughters are going to NC tonight. They are running a marathon at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday. My daughter that lives in NC and my granddaughter are running with them. I wish I could have gone.

I did not plan on going with them because I did not know if I would receive any income after this month. I know I will have income for the next several months but then I figure the same old stuff will start again. I get so tired of feeling like my life is always being held hostage because of politics.

COOLG, I know you do.

There is some good news on the front of the Reading/English test with the answer key still attached to the back. I told you the teacher relented and decided to trust my daughter and give her the A she earned without making her rewrite the test. Over the Fall Break there was more reevaluation. It was determined she had done the essays so well she deserved a 10 point bonus for value. She came out of school yesterday quite chuffed over that turn of events.

DEANIE, the doctor said he served in Panama for three years and saw thousands of brown recluse bites while there. His gut reaction was this one wasn’t going to core out in a substantial way. He cautioned to keep it covered in a bandage and antibiotic ointment until it has scabbed. He says his greatest concern is that it not be exposed to s Staph infection.

Good evening!

Daughter has now read as far as the tracker jacker attack. She says Glimmer was scary, and she thinks Rue is really cool…….I am not looking forward to what is coming.

Deanie, oh the joys of you being the youngest! I got my first bra as a Christmas present……that was even more embarrassing than my Dad’s dinner table announcement!
I must ask her, but I think my daughter is a fan of that series too. She’s certainly read some of him. I’ll check in the morning.

Graymayne, I’m happy you had a good day.

My daughter says House of Hades, Rick Riordan’s latest book, although still maintaining a child centered writing style has crossed over into Young Adult territory. Some parents might not be pleased.

SPOILER NOTICE as to what has gone beyond children’s book territory.

Nico Di Angelo, son of Hades, one of the characters has admitted he is gay and in love with Percy.

SPOILER OVER

BigG has passed the exam after his training in his new job, so he has now attained the highest level in his area of expertise. It is always nice to add something new to one’s CV.

Asti My first bra at 14 was a badge of pride, probably because in the 50’s women were fashionably shapely and our family had the right build. Sadly, if you let your weight get out of control your asset can become an albatross, sigh.

I am up early. I have the day off to go and swallow that camara pill. :( pray that it finds nothing.

I am very happy to report that we are doing well with my mother in law. She has adjusted too. She goes into her room to see her shows or comes to the living room to see our shows. She loves hearing from her grandkids. She was sick yesterday and spent a lot of time in bed. She is up and ready now. :)

Today I go pick up the Nuns. I love listening to them talk. They talk with such goodness and love. They see God’s beauty in this world and are constantly reminding you we should be grateful. :)

I believe I was talking about how nice my assets still looked. Then I took the pencil test. Gravity has taken it’s toll. Lol

Even though my grandkids are still around I find I am missing my two daughters. They are in NC for the marathon on Saturday. It is nice that they are with my oldest daughter. I just did not realize that I would miss them. This just goes to show that although I like living on my own I also like the thought the daughters are just 10 minutes away. They actually live pretty close to each other.

I think I will have to put my sandels away and start wearing slip on house shoes. My feet are getting cold. I don’t really like to wear socks all the time so house shoes it is.

MM have fun with the nuns. I hope you have no bad reaction to the camera pill.

Graymayne Now I have forgotten what I was going to say. OH Great news about Big G.

I just spent 2 hours trying to make a complaint with talk talk my internet provider about a payment I believe I shouldn’t have to pay . .in the end I agreed to pay it as long as they offered me some compensation. The customer service rep told me that he couldn’t take my payment and gave me another number to ring and it connected me to a gay chatline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whats that all about? If I hadn’t been on the phone for 2 hours and spoken to 13 (YES 13) customer service reps I might have found it funny.

I just survived my first day as a substitute teacher. The phone call came just before 6 AM and I had to be there at 6:45. So, off I went with no breakfast and barely a shower. I took my DS’s sandwich I had made for his lunch, not a sandwich I would have chosen for myself. I arrived at the school to find the teacher’s planning period was her first slot in the day. I didn’t see a stuudent until 9:30 after having been there almost three hours.

My head is aching from no caffeine this morning and from all the energy those teenagers suck up. I was in a 10th grade English classroom. The classes were divided into 95 minute blocks. For the first 45 minutes they were to work silently in their journals. Most of them didn’t have 45 minutes worth of anything to write on paper. So, I had to keep them from dissolving into chatter. Then, they broke into groups where they could talk and I had to try to make sure they were staying on topic.

I am inline to pick up my daughter and take my mother to see my father. It is 3:45 PM and my father has been alone all day.

Good evening!

More overtime for me today, and I have yet to finish my jobs around the house. I could really have done with my day off, but I can’t turn down £50. It is son’s 17th birthday tomorrow, and we are off to London for the weekend. We won’t be back ‘til late Sunday, so I am having to get all the weekend washing done tonight. I am actually……gasp using my tumble drier. I’ve made a simple picnic, packed snacks and nibbles, wrapped gifts, and am looking forward to sitting down!

Daughter came to me this evening, holding my Kindle and with damp eyes. She said……..
BIG THG SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
……….“Rue just died.”
She needed a hug.

Lady Hawke, that sounds like a baptism of fire! Well done you! Especially after no caffeine! Horror of horrors, I couldn’t do that! xx

Wolfie, the bra story really shouldn’t be funny………I’m sorry!

MM, please come and tell us how you got on. I have been thinking of you. xx

Graymayne, that is great news about your son.

xxx

Graymayne – being one of the persons that sits and creates teacher schedules. The administrators have no other options. The teacher schedules are created over the summer. When a substitute teacher walks in they are tied to whatever schedule the teacher has. They have to follow that schedule. So poor LadyHawke had to do whatever was in the teacher plans. :(

I went early this morning for my doctor appointment.
I swallowed the camera pill. It was a little big but I drank lots of water and it was OK. :/
They told me to go home and about my regular day. Sooooo….

I took my aunts the nuns to see our gorgeous lake and LakeShore Drive. They were very happy. Then we went out to lunch downtown. All that time I had the camera monitor around my waist. My sister went with me to help with the aunts. They are less, less mobile. One can only walk very short distances. Yet she refuses to use a walker. :(

We saw everything from the safety and warmth of the car. My mother in law was in dialysis so I only had the nuns with me. :)

MM I was horrified by the short notice coupled with the fact that no pupils required a teacher until 9.30am. On the facts it seems unreasonable and uneconomical to have a supply teacher hanging around for nearly three hours with nothing to do.

GRAYMAYNE, I was paid by the day, not the hour. The teacher had requested a substitute for her day and the placement office provided one. It was simply personally frustrating for me to have raced out of my home without coffee or breakfast to find I had reported there at the appointed hour and then had nothing to do. I knew teachers had planning periods and had been looking forward to it as a much needed break somewhere in the middle of the day. Instead it was the first block of time in the morning. I will assume if I am ever called to substitute for a high school teacher whose planning period is the last block in the day I will be allowed to check out and go home. The school wants you there at the start of the day so they know there is an adult there and accounted for.

Fortunately, I did have a book but found the atmosphere or myself not in the best of circumstances to read. I was nervous and watching the minutes tick slowly by. I was wishing for a hot caffeinated beverage but aware that toilet privileges would be in short supply once those students descended upon me since my “break” had already taken place. Good fortune did descend on me in one respect. There was a fund raising drive going on yesterday morning. They had brought in chicken/biscuit (scone) sandwiches from a chain restaurant that specializes in boneless chicken and were selling them in the entry hall. So, I did have something to eat but I can’t count on that ever happening again.

MM, when will you know something about what your camera saw other than the inside of your bowl and your face looking down into the bowl at it? I just had a terrible thought. I wonder how many people have stripped down for a bath when they sit on the toilet and evacuate the camera and turn to see it still taking photos “in all their glory”? Maybe it is out of focus for distance photos.

GRAYMAYNE, congratulations to Big G. My DS is always adding professional certifications trying to do just as you said, making himself current and professionally active.

I’m afraid I fall into the crowd whose assets were never prime, first practically non existent and straight on to difficult to manage. When I married at 31 years old I wore the smallest adult size bra possible. I billowed up with the hormones of pregnancy and now have the difficult to manage, easy to get out of control kind.

WOLFIE, did you have any reserves left to go back and call your internet service customer support again? This sort of goes on your list of never ending magnetism toward fouled up situations.

I have had my tea and now must call my mother and tell her I am on my way to pick her up and take her to my father for the day.

I’ll come back to make some Saturday morning breakfast.
