Happy Imbolc, the first day of the Spring Quarter! I am looking out at blue sky and a blazing sun, most unexpected.

It snowed a lot. What a surprise!!! NOT! >:(
We had 10 inches of snow fall last night.
I want to know why Mother Nature is so mad at us she keeps flinging snow and ice at us??? :(

We need a nice warm beach, A balmy forest walk, a gorgeous view of a warm sunset. Close your eyes and imagine it. Go on. Sigh!! :D

Okay I’m at my happy place. :)

BTW – good morning Leaky. :)

I have many things to do today. It will be slowed by all the “snow”. Ugh!!

I need a vacation. :(

What are the odds of me convincing the DS to abandon his mother and taking me somewhere on a vacation?

I have been subtly giving him hints. Please pray and cast your spells that they take root in his head. :)
(And NO MIL!!!) very, very very important that when you pray or cast your spell it says ….NO MIL!!

You have a mission…. Go to it!!!

The closing on the house is scheduled for Thursday. The closing attorney has determined that since no one needs to notarize my parent’s signatures I can take the papers to them, have them sign, and bring the papers back to the attorney’s office. I will also have to go to the bank and get cashier’s checks made out for the appropriate amounts to the appropriate recipients. My mother has had a new checking account created to handle the money that will be used to purchase the house. Unfortunately, she will not have received the new imprinted checks by Thursday so the purchase will have to be made using a cashier’s check from the bank. She will have to have one for the person selling the house and one for the closing costs of the attorney’s office. At any rate the purchase will be made with me doing all the driving and fetching without my parents having any more involvement than signing their names.

MM, I am sending lots of prayers your way that you and your DS have a lovely get away without your MIL along for the ride, that you find a nice place for her to stay while you are gone or that someone volunteers to come keep her company while you are gone, so your DS does not spend his time away worrying about her.

My mother found early in her marriage that if she and my father were going somewhere for dinner her MIL was dressed and ready when they went out the door, even for dinner invitations from my mother’s friends, even for events hosted by my mother’s family, even when they were taking me as a baby to see her parents. I can remember my grandmother “having spells” when she realized we were about to go somewhere and leave her at home, making it impossible for us to go at all. It is a very difficult away to live.

Good evening!

I have been indulging myself hugely all day. Kate Atkinson’s new book came out in paperback last Thursday, and I have been wallowing in it. I lovelovelove her writing.

Took daughter to the library again today. She was utterly delighted at finding three books she wanted in the For Sale pile. I was fairly delighted too…….they only cost 20p each.

Lady Hawke, I hope all goes smoothly this week.

MM, spell cast as requested, and most fervently!

Happy Imbolc, Graymayne.

Thank you everyone. The DS is looking at buying a new car and that has me very worried. It means no vacation. Let’s keep praying. We don’t need a new car. :(
We need a vacation. Sigh.

I went shopping for my SIL. They are throwing her a surprise birthday party tomorrow. She is turning 50.
YES on Super Bowl weekend. Yikes!
We plan to arrive early and leave before the start of the Super Bowl. Besides we have a perfect excuse we have my MIL who will need to come home.

Did everyone see the article in which JKR sauid having Hermione end up with Ron was a mistake? She said it was wish fulfillment on her part, not well thought out. She said it was the way she first envisioned it and that she never deviated. Emma Watson agreed with her that Ron wouldn’t have made Herminoe happy, that they would have needed counseling.

She certainly wrote the plot so you can see them being destined for each other from Book One. She thinks now she shouldn’t have done it.

Oh, and she also said she should have put Harry and Hermione together.

It was an interview she did with Emma for some publication called Wonderland for which Emma was guest editor this month. The quotes were picked up by The Sunday Times. There is a whole article on the way.

I knew it!!! I knew Harry and Hermoine were better suited for each other!!!

I am glad she didn’t because we needed Harry to be part of the Weasleys family. With Ginny he would be their son. It’s better the way she wrote it. :/

I was just thinking that we need her to write a book. Any book. We need to go back to the excitement of anticipating a book and to discuss the Wizarding World. The reason we came together. We need that back.

Look at all our “yung uns”. Off to college and all grown up. Master Lew is getting married. I’m a grandma. Life has caught up with most of us. :(

There are some really foul-mouthed comments after that article. It has certainly started some chatter on the web.

Harry and Hermione would have been farfarfar too intense. I like Ron and Hermione, though I imagine the rows would be spectacular!

Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays Plutarch Heavensbee in The Hunger Games has been found dead of a heroin overdose in his home in NYCCRAP! What a tragic waste.

Won_Two Very inconvenient for the cast of Mockingjay unless his scenes have been shot already.

Part I is in post production… However, Part II is still filming. I have not heard whether Hoffman’s scenes have been completed yet.

What a shame. To waste your life on drugs. It almost makes me angry with all the people that are dying of cancer, heart disease, etc. never mind. I’m not opening that can of worms. :/

Adella Black Yes, I watch it but my DS won’t. I surprised myself because I am the one who is so fixated about costume/set accuracy, but the characters are so vividly brought to life that the whole idea has an appeal in its own right. I did feel that series three story-plotting became as complicated as the weaving of a bird’s nest.

A version of The Three Musketeers is currently showing here and I frowned at the leather costumes that the main characters were wearing, but the main theme of plots, sex and swordfighting still holds so I have been hooked. The main characters are, er, very charismatic;-)

Won-Two I read on one fan site that he had seven days shooting left of Part 2.

Adella Black I have just re-read my post and cringed at my over-use of “main”. I do apologise, it must be my lack of breakfast, lol:-/

My DS thinks they will film any critical scenes in which he is missing either with discarded shots of him from other scenes and a person with a matching voice doing a voice over when the camera is not on PSH. Either that, or they will be doing a sort of off stage, “he said this and he said that.”

I am taking care of phone calls to the bank, attorneys and the home owner today. I also need to make a run to Target and a run to a couple of banks.

I’ve just read a lovely little piece, saying that if Voldemort committed his crimes for real, he’d be imprisioned for 134 1/2 years. For the crimes of “genocide, murder, attempted murder, terrorism and child abuse. He might also be found guilty of animal cruelty, incitement to violence, identity fraud, torture and trespassing.” Lol!

Ironsos, my DS and son have just watched the Superbowl, recorded last night as it is way too late to watch live here. I knew the result, but not the final score, and did a very good job of keeping quiet! They were backing Seattle, after Denver beat their team, New England, in the last round.
You should watch rugby! The Six Nations has just started here, our four home countries plus Italy and France. My Welsh pride comes to the fore…..!!

The Emergency Alert System just came over TV for a winter storm warning which inculded all the surrounding counties as well as mine. I did not catch how much snow they are expecting. Right now the sun is shining.

I did have the Super Bowl on but somehow failed to watch closely. I have been watching all the clips of it today.

My great granddaughter is being born today. My granddaughter is so weird that I probably won’t be told about it until way after the event. She is mad at her mother so does not want any info to get out in case someone tells Jennifer. This is the same granddaughter who stayed with me for free . She moved out when my 220 electric did not work so did not have hot water. She could not live like the olden days and heat her own water to bath. Can not blame her since Jennifer moved out too. It was a good thing that I could rough it until the electric got fixed.

I still have the truck parked by the fence. I want to be able to get out if I need to. I don’t remember having trouble getting out of the drive way when it snowed before. Maybe we did not have the hump in the road before. I think the water has caused the ground and gravel to wash away and leave the large hump to try to get over.
