Hi, Potterphiles! I saw the movie tonight and absolutely loved it!!!

It helps that I’m very fuzzy on the details of the book, I’m sure, but it was just so well acted and the special effects were amazing, and as far as I remember all the crucial moments were there.

I was fine until George asked Fred how he was right before the battle started – from then on I was making good use of the kleenex in my purse. Especially the part with Snape’s memories and Harry seeing everyone he loved who had died and the talk with Dd. The theater wasn’t even half full – maybe a third. I only heard one other person blow her nose but at least everyone clapped (after I did) for Molly’s big line and everyone clapped a lot when Neville killed Nagini. No one else clapped when R&H kissed and I was so surprised at it because I wasn’t expecting it to happen then but it worked perfectly! And I loved seeing them in the CoS!

Funniest awkward added moment is undoubtedly Voldemort hugging Draco!!! ROFLMBO!!! As if!

My hands actually hurt because I spent the whole movie gripping them so hard I was so on edge from all the action – it was fantastic!

Neville in love with Luna! Haha – a cute add-on although not canon. JKR said he ends up with Hannah Abbott and Luna marries some kind of naturalist or something. Still very cute though!

I wish they had left in the “say hi to Uncle Neville” in the epilogue. They did a great job aging them all though – not overdone, which was my concern.

They omitted Dd’s backstory – his sister, his relationship with Grindelwald. Huh…

I didn’t think it came across very clear why HRH went to check on Snape after LV killed him but that’s OK.

Wasn’t thrilled that they had McGonagall lock up the Slytherines – so out of character! I’m trying to rationalize it that she didn’t want them killed unfairly but that would make more sense if she had locked up all 5th years and younger…

Hello Everybody!!!! I loved Deathly Hallows Part II, Things happen as JKR said in the book that they would, just not exactly as usual as the book said it would!!!!! I mean Neville Kills Naginni, Harry Destroys Voldemort, Molly kills Bellatrix, and they left in the part when she says NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU B-T-H!!!! Snape dies by Naginni, just not in the bubble/Sphere that the book describes it happening!!! Ron and Hermione Kiss!!!! and even Ginny & Harry steal a short kiss!!!! I saw it in 3D, and plan to see it again!!!! Oh yes it is Narcissa that bends down and declare’s that Harry is dead, and ask him in a wisper is Draco in the castle!!! Like I said things did happen that the book said they would but they way they happened was a bit different!!!! and of course there were added things that the book did not say happened at all!!!!!! I have to be to work today at 12pm – 9pm so I will see everybody a little later!!!!! lol

A film critic in the UK, who has suddenly decided that he approves of the HP series insisted that the film is better in 2D because a lot of it is not well lit, and you don’t need the extra tint of the glasses to darken it further. I NEED YOUR ADVICE, I haven’tseen it yet.

Bonjour from Paris

Well actually I’m working on an industrial estate about 30 minutes outside of Paris, but that doesnt really sound very romantic does it?

Glad you’re all enjoying DH2. I went to see it on saturday and loved it. It was so funny when the advertisements stopped and the HP logo came onto the screen everyone in the cinema went whooooooooooooo at the same time and then started laughing. There was also a round of applause at Mollys line.

My oldest neice (who’s 18 and probably a bigger fan than I am) has been bouncing off the walls all week with excitement. She was really looking forward to the film but was also very sad as she said that Harry had been with her for her whole life and the film was like the end of her childhood. She was pretty sad when it was over. Luckily we are off on our 5 week trans siberian Mongolia backpacking adventure in 3 weeks time so I’m sure she’ll cheer up soon.

jen you should follow my packing technique. Wait till the morning of the trip, rummage through your wardrobe and grab anything that looks/smells clean, stuff it in the bag and then you’re ready to go :-) My neice keeps calling me with questions about what we need to take with us to Mongolia and my response is ‘eh! what are you talking about – just pack anything thats clean and make sure you have enough pants’ . . . .

MM it sounds like you’ve been ill. Why didnt you tell me – you know that elmo would have been straight over to nurse you back to help. . . . now I feel bad about making those ‘old and stupid jokes’ on CC. I should have waited till you where back to your full strenth before i insult you. Get well soon. . . I had some health issues recently. Nothing serious just had a series of fainting episodes that went on for weeks. It turns out to be nothing more than v low blood pressure and anaemia so i’ve been given iron tablets and told to eat more salt to increase my blood pressure. I seem to have been ok for the last couple of weeks so fingers crossed X. Fainting all the time is very inconvenient and pretty embarrasing . . . I fainted at the theatre, on the train, on a bus, in the toilets at work, in my bathroom . . . I’m like a sensitive victorian lady who constantly needs her smelling salts

Graymayne I agree about it being visually dark. The extra tint from 3D glasses sounds like too much to me, but I didn’t even try it. I’d recommend seeing it in regular 2D first!

Wolfie sorry to hear about your fainting but I’m glad they found an easy cure!

It’s starting to look like “old home week” here. So many of our truants seem to be coming home. ;)

back to work for me – have 2 presentations and report that needs to be completed for a 7.30am meeting tommorow morning (I hate early morning meetings – I’m never at my best). I’ve done the 2 presentations and about a 5th of my report whoo hooo

They also have this amazing coffee/dessert combo over here. Its called Cafe Gourmand and its a little cup of expresso with a trio of mini deserts and a little piece of chocolate. I love minature deserts (as long as you get more than one of them) . . . its blooming amazing . . .although it might be a bit late for the expresso now :-)

oh and laura if you are around . .i had a cracking little cream tea the other week at my local garden centre. Home made scones, home made jam and lovely clotted cream with a nice cappuchino. I nearly bought an extra scone just for you (then I would have had an excuse to eat two of them)

I saw the movie last night and I hate hate hated it. I was so angry during most of it I couldn’t even enjoy the parts that were done well. Blech. I want my money back, WB D-bags.
