An hour and 1/2 between comments at night means there was a problem. Where’s PB, Ava, and HW? They are usually here when I come back for the night.

I HIGHLY recommend it. I would not be considered a Trekie, and I loved it. I know a lot of Trekies, though, and they have said it was awesome, too – so I think its great for both groups. They did a great job of matching new actors to the original cast, and the new actors did a great job on keeping personality continuity to the original cast.

Laura I was hoping it would be good.

I’m not a Trekie, I don’t know much canon. But no one I’ve heard from seemed to mind if there was discontinuity. And it has Leonard Nemoy…what’s not to love? My only complaint with not keeping to canon (and personal appeal) is that Kirk didn’t take off his shirt enough.

But I also hear it is a rousing good film… How was the “Syler/Spock”?

That’s what I want to know about too. Syler as Spock. I have seen him in clips of Spock and he looked pretty good. Lol

Laura – I am so glad you thought it was good. I want to go see it and hearing that it was a good movie makes me feel like seeing it even more. I just did not have the time this weekend.

Where is Ironsos?? He was looking forward to this movie a lot. He was the first to post the trailer here at Leaky. If it weren’t for him I would of had NO IDEA that Star Trek was being re-made. :(

He’s phenomenal! I thought he did such a good job with Nimoy’s character – and really added to the evolution of the character (or at least the starting of the evolution considering it a prequel). I thought the actors were convincing in both appearance and acting as younger counterparts of the original series (TOS) cast.

And, MM, its not actually being remade, persay – the franchise is just continuing with a “beginnings” movie along the story line of TOS.

Syler is one of the key characters in the TV series “Heros”…

TOS = the original series. Not to be confused with The Next Generation, Voyager, etc.

Sylar is a character on Heroes played by Zachary Quinto, Zachary also plays Spock in the new Star Trek.

I am done waiting for laundry. I am now waiting for my son. He starts his second week today. Let’s hope it is a totally boring week for him. May he spend his time giving out traffic tickets. :(

Laura – I knew it as starting at the beggining BEFORE the TV series started. I just think of it being re-made only because it is totally different actors playing our beloved characters. It is like if they decided to show us Harry during his time with the Dursleys and we got to see the story but a totally different actor played Harry as a toddler.

Hey… JKR could we have that story PLEASE? PLEASE? :)

MM, gotcha! ;) And I’d love another JKR story, too, no matter when it takes place!
