I doubt that Beadle will be available in one of the two local bookstores in my village in the Netherlands on 4 December (if it will become available there at all), so I have ordered it online.
I can’t wait !! It won’t be like a new Harry Potter book of course, but that will never be again. I am also looking forward to the new Temeraire book though (in Dutch, I mean. The English edition has been out for some time now, but as it happens I’ve got the first four in Dutch, so I’ll just stick with that.)

Doc

Can you believe I fell asleep on the laptop last night? Me neither. But apparently I did.

To clear any confusion I know is spreading – I am NOT anyone besides myself. PB was oh-so-subtly suspicious of me last night, and I really don’t know why. coughcough XD

Me = Doc. Other people = other people. Done and dusted.

Hope everyone is having a great day! (History is the best lesson ever.)

Happy Birthday, Graymayne!
Lots of happy and fabulous thoughts being sent your way.

Hello, won and siriusb.

SiriusB, can you recommend a good Chinese restaurant? I may have missed it because I can’t find one in SLC. The best one I went to was in California.

Had a comment from the previous poll, but not sure if anyone’s still there, so…

“MissHagrid I have not tried the frozen soda bottles for the feet yet, I will have to give that a try, but I HAVE frozen soda bottles before and would caution anyone trying that method to beware! Drink some out first. They explode!”

LOL, Headmistress LemonFaerie, the key is to drink ALL the soda out of the bottle and then refill it with water.

I would SO love for there to be a midnight release party. I didn’t get to go to one for Deathly Hallows because I had no way of getting out of town and my local Wal-Mart didn’t do a midnight release, so I had to wait ’till it opened in the morning to get my book (and by the time I started reading the series, HBP was in paperback).

So now I’m home, and I’m going to try to squeeze some soup into my mouth. I can’t open it very far, and I’ll still completely numb on the left side. So far there’s no pain, but we’ll see what happens once that numbness wears off.

Lady Hawke, I’m sorry I missed your earlier post. I was thinking of you taking your dad in, and now I’ll add some extra luck spells to those thoughts in the hopes that the results do turn out to be the ones that you’re hoping for.

MissHagrid, I thought I was the only one here who had started reading HP so late; I’m glad I’m not alone. I started listening to the audiobooks on my work commute in Jan 06 (so about 6 mths before the paperback). I would only listen in the car. Even when I was at really good parts, I wouldn’t let myself bring the tapes in to continue, because I wanted in to last for as long as possible. (Little did I know then that I’d find myself part of a fandom in which HP will never truly end!) I finished HBP in April, and immediately started back at the beginning, but that was when I first started visiting the sites. It’s really amazing that I was never spoiled, especially considering that I was working at the bookstore then. I suppose it’s possible that I heard something that didn’t mean anything at the time and therefore didn’t stick, but I’m still surprised (and grateful) that I didn’t already know a lot of key events before I started reading.

Weird…there was a whole beginning paragraph that didn’t show in my last post! I wonder if it’ll show up later as a partial splinch?

I basically just said that I was back and that the doctor said it had gone well. I was pleasantly surpised that I came out of the anesthesia feeling fine because I’ve heard stories from and seen a couple of people who have come out feeling sick, or laughing uncontrollable, or crying. But I was fine – just a bit lightheaded and unsteady on my feet. That had been one of the parts I was most nervous about, because I hate not feeling in control of my actions (one of the reasons I much prefer virtual drunkenness to the real thing!) ;)

I think that’s everything that was missing, but I guess we’ll find out if it ever shows up!

Interesting…they must be in the middle of adjusting some things, because my first post was definitely not at 10:11 AM, and now that second one is showing the correct time – Eastern Time, so it looks like Leaky time may be back to the way it used to be.

Cool Grandma

Good Afternoon Everyone

Happy Birthday Graymayne. Hope you have a nice day and a good meal. It’s nice that Big G is with you.

Sirius You are on again today. I always look for you on Fridays. Looks like qualifying may be rained out again. The Truck practice has been cancelled. I don’t follow the trucks as much as Cup or Bush. Maybe it will stop raining by 3:30. I missed this mornings session for cup. This is starting to be a habit that I forget it’s Friday. Lol

I’m trying to catch up on some paperwork. I have been lax since we got back so I’m behind.

BookWorm Jen I hope today goes well for you. Having teeth pulled or cut out is never pleasant.

Mistic Have fun at your picnic. They couldn’t have got a better person to be cheerleader. Lol
