I think 14. I could be wrong. I’m too lazy to go back and look. ;)

Well, if the weather continues like this, I’ll be in my Birkis next week. Not a moment too soon! My bunion is killing me! I think it is getting bigger or devloping a greater deformity of the joint.

Whatever…It hurts! ;)

Josephine You were right. It was 13. ;)

Now it’s 14! ;)

evb615 actually that’s the Grand Opening. It will be open for a few weeks before that while they work out the bugs in the rides and the traffic flow and get all the cast trained.

So the park will probably be open in May, but the Grand Opening is not until June. In fact that is Father’s Day weekend. ;)

Hey everyone!

I was just popping in to see if Leaky had done anything for April Fool’s Day yet, since it’s already the 1st in the UK. Looking forward to whatever they have in store for us tomorrow; their pranks always make me laugh! :)

There you are Deanie!!!

I was getting very worried. You have not been by the castle, so I began to worry. I guess I should have looked here first. :)

I’m looking forward to the April Fools joke too, both Leaky and Mugglenet do fantastic pranks every year.
Remember the Memerson one? That was hilarious.

hmm still no April Fool’s joke yet on Leaky… I’ll have to check back in the morning! :D

CatAlly LOL Memerson was awesome…! Hope you’ve been doing well!

MM, CatAlly has posted here before… just not a whole lot ;)

Josie hi! waves hope things are going well and that you’re enjoying Spring Break as much as your family is! :)

Jen I know this is a few days late, but yay for the dinner!! :D Hope you had fun!

Deanie hope your week hasn’t been too busy… also do you know if the theme park will be open to the public before June 18, with only selected rides open? Or is it only open to the ride testers? This is just out of curiosity, since I hadn’t heard of soft openings before…

Hufflebug Yeah, it was. I’m really disappointed that the LeakyMug site, where the whole joke was documented, no longer exists. I want to look at it all again and laugh my head off.
I’ve been doing ok btw, looking forward to Easter and Leaky’s April Fools prank.

Huff Usually at theme parks they open the whole park, or the new part to the public. The drawback is that not everything is open all the time. Some rides may be down so they can fix glitches or improve the timing or something. So if you go at that time, you may not be able to do, see or ride everything.

When I worked at Busch Gardens in Virginia, they had everything pretty much up and running and had to close the ice cream place. They had run out of strawberries and something else and were not set up to get more for that day. It turned out that the strawberry sundae was the biggest seller. Ever! For something that was not designed to be a whole meal.

Sometimes they spend the time tweaking the menus at the food stalls that are supposed to be themed for that section.

Felipe lives pretty near there and he would have a bit more information on the soft opening date. ;)

The April Fool’s joke is flat for me, this year. I do not watch Glee so none of the “inside” show based jokes mean anything to me. ;)

I started coming here because of Jo’s comments about the “marriage” of Melissa and Emerson on her web site. I found it around mid April and found the poll comments in early May 2006. The rest, as they say, is history. ;)

Hi all!

Leaky made my day today with Gleeky! As most of you know, it’s my favorite show, so I love this whole idea. I had hoped they’d keep updating throughout the day with more news posts, but so far, no luck. I love how much effort they put into it, though, with the GleekyCon video, and the “Grock” songs. They always go above and beyond; I wonder how long it took them to plan this?

CatAlly, I wish they’d have an archive section of all the April Fool’s Day jokes; I never got to see the Memerson joke. Like you, Deanie, I found Leaky & MuggleNet thanks to Jo’s comments about it. I figured the sites must be pretty good to have her approval like that. I arrived some time in April ‘06, but I didn’t find the poll comments until Dec, and didn’t post here until Jan ’07. :)

Deanie, like you I don’t watch Glee on tv. Do listen to their (Gleeky) song though which is on the sarcastic side.

Must fly (or jet) off and go watch the wimpy kid with the kids. Cheers.

Maybe if we mention it to them, they could bring the LeakyMug site back somehow(along with the other jokes they’ve done over the years). It could be archived somewhere on either the Mugglenet or Leaky servers, Melissa, Emerson or some other staffer would know where it is.

I loved the Gleeky Cauldron this year, I wasn’t fooled cause a few staff members here love Glee. At least now they have a new site for it.

Light traffic today. Evidently more businesses are closed this year for Good Friday than in past years. ;)

I have some “busy-work” to do today. ;)

Josephine, How was Wimpy Kid? ;)

Deanie I haven’t read the book so I guess the movie was quite acceptable. Of course now I am being pestered by the youngest because she read all the books and says it’s different but not totally, kind of how the Percy Jackson movie was made. I will eventually read both series.

Josie, I’m curious to see Whimpy Kid. I read the book for a class this semester, and one of the things that really makes the book work is the way the text interacts with the illustrations. Sometimes the drawings show exactly what was written, or expand upon it, and other times the drawing is opposite from what the text says, to show what “really” happened, which is where so much of the humor comes from. I’m interested to see how they were able to translate that to film; I have a feeling that most of the sort of tongue-in-cheek, wink-wink type humor will have been lost without the text-illustration connection.

Bookworm Jen, they did a good job with the ’tongue-in-cheek, wink-wink type humor ’ in the movie, as well as that opposite effect. My daughter did ask why there was one character while the other two (which I assumed got blended into one for economic reasons, financial and timewise) were omitted.

Not too sure if I like the main character though even if he is cute. Seems to me that his close friend merits a lot more.

Hi Mistic! CONGRATULATIONS on finally getting into your new home!! And congrats on the new dog as well!

Thanks for the info, Josie – that makes me even more eager to see it. I think I’ll wait until it makes its way to the cheap theater though. I’ll let you know what I think once I do.
