Hey guys, firstly I am going to quickly condemn the stupid amount of work teachers give you in GCSE year, and now¦ I will return to my main topic of discussion¦

Aberforth Dumbledore!

I am known with my friends to absolutely ADORE this old man, ever since the Deathly Hallows came out. So in a break between my Chemistry write up and my History essay I have decided to write about the lesser known, lesser appreciated Dumbledore son.

Even though I say he is lesser appreciated, I agree with Albus when he states that his brother is “far nobler” than him. Now don’t get me wrong; I like Albus a lot, I think he is a brilliant, brave and good man however it is my brother whom (since the Deathly Hallows) fascinates me.

So onto the question I was asking myself today;

Why was Aberforth in the Order of the Phoenix?

I understand that he is noble and brave, just like any other Gryffindor, but why would he be in the Order of the Phoenix if he was on so bad terms with his brother?

Personally, there are two possible answers;
1. His relationship with Albus wasn’t as terrible as he seemed to have put across to the trio.
2. He had an ulterior motive for being in the order, i.e. a friend of his was in it perhaps?

OK, for the first answer (the most plausible) I think that at this point ’ The Final Hiding Place ’ he just felt extremely defeated and bitter. He’s not known for his optimism and perhaps he vented this out on the first source he could find, his brother. So that when Harry asked him about it he was very blunt in his wording (but I suppose that’s just him!)

And second, this ulterior motive thing was a weird thing I thought up in Physics¦ It’s turned into a plot bunny OH NOES! But I basically was daydreaming and came to the conclusion that he may have joined because a friend of his had and he wanted to protect them¦ I honestly have no idea who, but maybe this would add to the reasons that he dislikes his brother because perhaps it is one of the deceased Order Members.

OK, well this whole blog was a little weird, but I have to say as a closing comment that, doesn’t Aberforth make you think of one of those old people who seem like they won’t die for another hundred years because they are so sturdy and full of life?… admittedly I believed the same of Mad-Eye, apparently so did Harry “the consummate survivor” but Aberforth survived two massive wars and he’s still strong, he’ll be fine for a while yet. 😀

Peace OUT!

*hugs*
