GoF DVD Breaks Sales Records

Five million copies of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire DVD were sold in North America on its first day of release (Tuesday, March 7), breaking the record for first-day DVD sales. Warner Bros. reports that the DVD is on its way to becoming the best-selling DVD of the Harry Potter series so far.

The Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD was one of the top ten best sellers in 2005, according to year end charts from Billboard magazine. Harry Potter is sixth on Lycos' Top 50 2005 search terms, while the movie is 27th. Meanwhile, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was the most often-searched movie of 2005 on AOL, with Emma Watson and Dan Radcliffe coming in at 6th and 7th in the under-21 division.
