New Scholastic Book Seven Placeholder Art

Scholastic, the US publishers of the Harry Potter series, has now added new Book Seven placeholder art on the Amazon.com Harry Potter 7 page. You can also see this artwork in the icon with this post. Readers will remember earlier this fall, Scholastic upated the image; this is now the second image that we have. Again, we stress this does NOT mean that a title or release date in imminent for certain, just that this is the new artwork for the time being now on the page.

Reader E-mails

Dear Leaky Cauldron,

What did Dumbledore really see in the Mirror of Erised?

A Devoted Reader

Dear Devoted Reader,

I think he saw socks.
It seems impossible to most of us that a man as educated and brilliant as Dumbledore would claim this as his heart's desire, knowing that Lord Voldemort has returned and his world is again at risk. You would think he would claim that to defeat Voldemort is his heart's desire. But, while Voldemort's destruction would clearly bring great relief and probably satisfaction to Dumbledore, would it bring lasting contentment?
So instead of thinking of the socks as what they are, think about what they might represent -- maybe Dumbledore's desire is for the world to be the kind of place where he wants for nothing more than a nice pair of handknit socks.

Sincerely,

-Kristin for TLC
