Reps for actor Dan Radcliffe have strongly denied allegations made in a UK tabloid involving an illegal substance. Reuters reports that the latest rumors surfaced in UK tabloid the Daily Mirror, claiming the Harry Potter actor smoked cannabis at a party. Reps for Dan are quoted as saying "We categorically deny the allegations regarding Daniel
Radcliffe published in today's Daily Mirror," his spokeswoman
said in a statement on Friday. "Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he
was not doing anything more than this. We are considering our
position and will be taking all necessary action in relation to
such allegations."
God, it’s only a joint, he’s not doing crack and beating up old women. I smoke cannabis, I smoke it, sit inside, read or watch TV and mind my own business. Obviously the government would rather I go out, get obscenely drunk and start fights with strangers. I’m not even going to go into how cannabis is less damaging than tobacco or alcohol.
If Dan did smoke, then fine, it’s his choice what he does in his spare time. The tabloids need to mind their own business and stop dumbing us down with stuff that doesn’t matter.
In the past, Leaky has refused to post the Tabloid derogatory articles. I am disappointed that Leaky has changed that policy. True or not, why repeat negative articles from tabloids?
I don’t care if he smoke dope at a party. If he’d been in certain parts of the U.S. or elsewhere, what he did wouldn’t even be a crime.
That being said, it’s not smart to smoke dope — in fact, you can become stupid. Sustaining brief impairment of short-term memory isn’t good for someone who needs to be on his game. He’s an actor — he needs to show up on set, on time, and promote the movies once they have wrapped. He’s not running for sainthood.
Celebrity journalism is ridiculous. It’s not news — it’s just gossip.
It’s just a rumor and normally these stupid rumors are never true! This magazine “The Daily Mirror” could just be like “The National Enquirer”, which is all CRAP! I don’t even see why Leaky has posted this… until it’s been proven true or false then there is no need for us to know honestly.
I know this is garbage, and all, but I still couldn’t help myself in copying their front page. It’s like if a friend of mine was on the front page of the Enquirer.
I really hope it’s not true, that would be such a disappointment…
