International Release Dates for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
March 10, 2009, 07:16 AM
WB has officially posted the list of international release dates for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. As seen here via the film's website, many countries such as France, Denmark, Italy, and Egypt will see the movie first on July 15th, with those of us here in the US and UK to see the movie on July 17, 2009.
Yes!! Belgium again as one of the first countries to see HBP!!! July 15 is getting closer every day….
Why do some countries get to see the film sooner? Not bitter, just wondering.
FINALLY! I was wondering when we were gonna get the release dates!
I’m actually not disappointed at all that other countries get it first. We’ve pretty much figured everything out by now, via test screenings and trailers and such (one of the distinct disadvantages of this extended waiting period), and it’s nice to see some other countries getting their piece of the pie first. :) I’m just glad we finally know the dates!
India’s on 17th, same as UK & US !!!! ;D
Wow, the film will be released on 16th in Germany, I always thought US and UK would be the first ones.
yaaaaay australia is one of the first nations – a brilliant amendment, we were to be a week after US and UK with the earlier release date. I am happy.
16th will be a day to remember. so what are we all dressing up as?
Woo aus!! I was hoping they’d make up for that horrible week and half later deal!!
That was ridiculous!!!
Yay, we can see it on 16 juli.. Can’t wait till the movie comes out xD
yay! i can’t wait.
Some of you are so lucky that you get to see it a bit early. I am looking forward to the midnight showing here in the states.
Finally confirmed! I’ll be able to watch it a day earlier than in the US AND only a day after my birthday!
thats weird USA and UK usually get it first.
SAme day as the US, UK – cant wait for the 17th in India.
New movies usually launch on Fridays in the US, while in some other countries it’s usually Wednesday or Friday, hence the 1-2 days difference on what would otherwise be a “simultaneous” release.
For what it’s worth, those same countries usually have to wait weeks or even months for other movies.
