Jim Broadbent Confirms Return as Slughorn for Deathly Hallows

The BBC has a new interview with actor Jim Broadbent about his role as Professor Horace Slughorn for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince where speaks very highly of the Trio of Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. "I've worked with younger, they didn't seem young,
they're quite grown up now and quite sophisticated and very good young
actors," he explains."I took it from them, as they inhabit
their roles in such a natural and easy way that it's just good to be
able to join them and try and get on with it as easy as they are. It's
terrific." The article also includes a video snippet with the actor, he recalls his favorite scenes in the movie, doing scenes with Robbie Coltrane and their drunken memorial for Aragog and more. Finally, the BBC piece says Jim Broadbent is currently filming again as the Slytherin Potions master for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

This is great! But there is someone who isn’t coming back…Emma THompson :( which sucks coz i love trewlaney’s part throwing the crystal balls, it made me laugh after fred’s death :(
Still, that drunk scene with aragog would be awesome!!

They might replace Trewlaney like with Dumbledore. They probably won’t keep that crystal ball bit out. Glad he’s coming back though. He’s a great actor.

Continuity is one of the keys to the success of the movies. Have not seen his performance yet, but if his other work is any indication, than this can only be a good thing!

@Lilleby – I don’t think Calum Wilson WBM meant replace trelawney with dumbledore, but recast the part of Trelawny as they recast the part of dumbledore.
They really seem to be accumulating quite the cast for the final films!

i liked him in HBP although he was a bit old like if he was always drunk i didnt imagine him like that in the book but still he did a great job
