HP Cast

The Harry Potter cast have been keeping busy over the last week. Firstly, Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) graces the cover of the December issue of British Vogue with the caption “Emma Watson comes of age”; we now have high resolution images of the cover, cover photo without the text and an additional photo from the Vogue photoshoot right here in our galleries. Miriam Margoyles (Pomona Sprout) appeared on BBC programme “The Andrew Marr Show” on Sunday. The actress spoke about wanting to show her serious side as well as her trip to the West Bank where she saw many Palestinian refugees. The BBC is reporting today that “The King’s Speech” is leading the nominations for the 13th British Independent Film Awards. The film, about King George VI (Colin Firth), stars Harry Potter actors Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) as Queen Elizabeth, Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore) as King George V and Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew) as Winston Churchill. “The King’s Speech” premiered at the 54th BFI London Film Festival – find photos here in the Leaky Galleries – and will be released in the UK on the 7th of January 2011. “Deathly Hallows: Part 1” composer Alexandre Desplat also scored the film.

Following the premiere, Helena Bonham Carter and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) attended “The King’s Speech” afterparty – images from the event can be seen at this link. Bonham Carter has been busy promoting the film and attended press conferences in both the UK and US (photos here and here), a photocall and appeared in a number of portraits. In related news, Bonham Carter last week collected the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award for her role in “The King’s Speech” at the 14th annual Hollywood Awards Gala in the The Beverly Hilton Hotel, California.
