This week’s actor news is dominantly actor appearances at awards ceremonies and opening nights but first, a number of promo pictures of Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore) have been released from the upcoming Christmas episode of Doctor Who, “A Christmas Carol.” They can be seen right here in the Leaky Galleries. As we told you in August, Pooky Quesnel, who voices Moaning Myrtle in the “Harry Potter and
the Order of the Phoenix” video game will also star in the 2010 Doctor Who
Christmas special. The episode will be shown on Christmas Day on BBC One and on BBC America.

Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch), narrator of the British Harry Potter audiobooks Stephen Fry, Miriam Margolyes (Professor Sprout), Michael Gambon, and Helen
McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy) attended the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Thursday, 28 November at the Savoy. Sir Michael Gambon received the Lebedev Special Award. A number of images from the event can be found here in our galleries.

Also in award news, Julie Walters (Molly Weasley) attended and hosted the Women In Film And TV Awards on Friday at the Hilton on Park Lane. You can see some pictures of Walters at the event right here in our galleries.

Tiana Benjamin (Angelina Johnson) attended “A Night With Nick” in at the Swarovski Crystallised Lounge in London. The event, hosted by Nick Ede and Konnie Huq, raised money for The Stroke Association. You can find images of Benjamin at the event here in our galleries.

Lastly, Freddie Stroma (Cormac McLaggen) attended the gala opening night for “Cinderella: A Modern Musical Extravaganza” at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. Stroma will star as Prince Charming in “Cinderella” until the 19th of December. You can buy tickets for the panto right here and watch a preview below.
