HP Cast

It continues to be a quiet period for the actors in the Harry Potter cast as they promote completed projects and begin to wrap on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” filming. Oliver and James Phelps (George and Fred Weasley, respectively) have been interviewed by Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail as Harry Potter: The Exhibition opened last week in Ontario. Oliver Phelps describes the brothers as “fortunate” to have been able to play the Weasley twins, “characters where you can have a laugh.” He continued to say that the films are “coming to an end at the right time for everybody.”

In terms of the actors’ future plans, “as it stands, we’re going to carry on the acting,” said James Phelps, “there’s a
couple of things in the pipeline, all deciding on date of wrap on
Potter, so yeah, we’ll play that for a couple of years and go from
there. Definitely staying in the industry.” The Weasley twin actors also talked about fan encounters, auditions and friendships within the cast; you can find the full interview on The Globe and Mail website at this link.

Secondly, Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory) are on the 200-strong longlist for TIME Magazine’s 2010 100 Poll. The poll asks you to vote for the “leaders, artists, innovators and icons” who you would place on the year’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. The website declares Watson “a powerhouse in her own right” and comments, “Pattinson’s face ” however pale ” will be omnipresent” this summer following the release of the third film in the Twilight saga.
