Whilst many in the Harry Potter cast have been busy doing the last bits of filming for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, news has nonetheless surfaced about various actors’ upcoming and ongoing projects. Firstly, Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) is among those tipped to star as George Smiley in a film adaptation of John Le Carré’s cold war thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. British newspaper The Guardian reports that David Thewlis (Remus Lupin) is also rumoured to be in casting negotiations for the film, which will be directed by Tomas Alfredson (“Let the Right One In”).

“The Sweet Shop” production blog has been updated once more with a new video of Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) talking about MWS Media, the video production company behind the film. The Hospital Club has opened voting for the top 100 influential people
in the creative industries. A number of names associated with Harry
Potter appear in its shortlists, including: Tanya Seghatchian, producer
of the first five Harry Potter films who is nominated in the (Established) Film
category; Stephen Fry, narrator of the British Harry Potter audiobooks,
who is nominated in the (Established) Digital category; and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), nominated under the (Emerging) Fashion category. Voting is open until the 25th of June, via this link, and you can read up more about the nominees at this page. Those with the most votes will be published in the Top 100 list in The Independent newspaper on the 7th of July.
