Update: You can see the schedule for the games and access a link to a livestream of the games
here.
As we have previously
reported, the UK, US, France, and Australia are taking part in The Quidditch Association's Summer Olympic Games. More details of this tournament have been released. The Summer Olympic Games for Quidditch are to be
held in Oxford, England from July 8-9. This tournament is set to be apart of the Olympic Torch Relay Ceremony. Huffington Post says:
Billed as the Quidditch Summer Games, the event will feature five national teams representing the UK, USA, Canada, France, and Australia that will be competing as part of the Olympic torch relay celebration, held as the official torch passes through the town.
Bleacher Report suggests the USA is the team to beat, mainly because of the depth of players available.
Quidditch as a real-life game debuted in 2005 at Middlebury College in Vermont, but has since expanded to roughly 300 universities and high schools around the world, according to BUToday.com.
In fact, the 2011 Quidditch World Cup, held on Randall’s Island near Manhattan last November, drew 96 teams from as far away as Finland.

I am absolutely amazed that LOCOG (the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games) haven’t sued anybody over this, considering that they’re famously litigious on behalf of their corporate sponsors! But perhaps American organisations (as distinct from small local firms or charities who dare to ice the Olympic rings on cakes for the fête) are too much trouble to take on.

Obviously no one is having a problem if they are going to be part of the Olympic torch relay.

I am astonished. This would seem to imply that someone at LOCOG has a sense of proportion and/or humour.
I had a look at their website, and it sounds like there is a demonstration match that is part of the entertainment at the end of day torch relay event on 9th in Oxford, though a couple of hours before the torch actually gets there.
