Royal Family Visits Warner Bros. Studio Tour
April 26, 2013, 04:23 PM
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry visited the Warner Bros. Studio Tour today. J. K. Rowling was also there to greet them. While they were at the studio Prince William made a speech praising Harry Potter and Rowling:
He said: "The journey today began most obviously after the legendary story by inspiring author JK Rowing.
“Translating her phenomenal imagination on to paper in the form of the Harry Potter series. But in another sense the journey today began way before, since this country has a long and proud literary and visual arts history.”
Members of the audience then cheered and clapped as The Duke officially marked the opening of Warner Bros. studios by shutting a traditional film clapper board.
Matthew Lewis was also on hand, and he posted a picture
of him and Prince William on his Twitter account.
You can read more about the royal family's visit to the studios here
at the Watford Observer - including a bit about how the Duke and Duchess had a wand duel in the Gryffindor common room! You can view pictures of their visit here in our galleries
The photos are fun of the Royals inside WB Studios. It is cool that they received gifts of individualized wands. Unfortunately, the Watford Observer calls Matt Lewis “Matt David” and kept spelling duel “dual” when reporting on wand action between Kate and William.
What houses are they sorted into? (Windsor house does not count!)
Fun to read Matt s stuff, like his sense of humour
The Watford Observer also referred to the ‘notorious’ JK Rowling and said she wrote all eight Harry Potter books! Pretty sloppy writing really.
The visit was actually to officially open the Studios which WB have invested a lot of money in to turn it into a proper state of the art Film Studio complex which it certainly wasn’t before…just rather draughty old buildings that the Harry Potter films made good use of, but it wasn’t ideal as it was before.
Any girl who still imagines the life of a princess to be an enviable one should take note of the fact that Kate Middleton had to do the studio tour in high heels while pregnant. And I always thought that the Geneva Convention outlawed torture!
One might argue that she made her own decision about what to wear and brought it on herself, but I don’t think it works that way anymore once one marries into the royal family. Ridiculous rules of protocol take over your life from then on.
So girls, a word to the wise: Achieve something useful with your own natural talents and hard work, instead of hoping for some ‘prince’ to come set you up for life!
I just loved the photos of the royal “trio”, complete with a redhead! They all seemed to be having a lot of fun despite Kate’s high heels. I’ve never seen her wear any flat shoes and torture seems to be part of any fashionable young woman’s outfit these days.
@Moglet, Do you think JKR might get a laugh out of being called ‘notorious’ in this article? ;-)
@Polly, indeed she might!
That pretty cool :)
They all looked happy and excited to be there, as would I. Wish I were there even if it meant I could only do it in high heels.
