More casting! Accomplished thespians Richard Griffiths and Fiona Shaw will play Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia Dursley respectively, and Ian Hart (John Lennon in Backbeat) will take on the role of Professor Quirrell, Hogswart’s turbaned Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Notes from the Potter press conference. Perhaps the most interesting tidbit released is that two versions will be released: the UK version will refer to the “Philosopher’s Stone,” while the US will have the “Sorcerer’s Stone.”

It would appear that the Gabriel Thompson rumours are false. Warner Bros have announced the casting of 11 year old Daniel Radcliff as Harry. Daniel previously appeared in BBC’s adaptation of David Copperfield, as young David. Ron and Hermoine will be played by newcommers Rupert Grint (age 11) and Emma Watson (age 10).
