Loyal Reader Andrew Rankin has finally found a post that I didn’t find first. Hollywood Costumes has recently posted a bevy of pictures for their Harry Potter line, due out in June.

Looking at the pictures, we’re guessing that these costumes are based on the various movie items due to the fact that the Dumbledore and Hagrid masks look like Richard Smith and Robbie Coltrane in costume and one of the props is the “Nimbus 2000 Movie Broom“.

Other items of interest that may give us insight into various movie props and people include the Professor Flitwick mask (which tells us what Warwick Davis might look like in his makeup), wands (left-to-right are labeled as Harry’s, Ron’s, and Hermione’s), Professor McGonagall’s Spectacles which show us what the trailer did not (her glasses), the Sorting Hat, a picture of the “Ron” costume which shows us what Scabbers may look like in the movie (an earlier report from Harry-Potter-Movies.net told us that Scabbers would be animatronic), and finally, the Quidditch costume which gives us an idea of what the Red Gryffindor robes might look like along with the tiny, Golden Snitch.

Attempts to confirm that the costumes at this site are in fact what licensee Rubies Costumes showed at the recent Halloween Costume and Party Show have been unsuccessful but this earlier report on the show seems to match products with what is on the Hollywood Costumes site. However note that according to the article, Rubie’s Harry Potter line isn’t due out until 3 days after the movie premiers on November 16th. Yet Hollywood Studios Costumes says they’ll be available in June 2001.

Note: Hollywood Costumes makes this page difficult to get to. To see the Harry Potter costumes, go to the main Web site, click on “Enter Site” and scroll down the next page that loads until you see “Harry Potter and Friends” under one of the listings. Currently, this is listing #7. Go to the page for that listing, and click on the Harry Potter logo. You are now at the main costume page for Harry Potter. Please let us know if these links go dead. I’m guessing that since Rubies doesn’t have their Harry Potter line on their site yet that Hollywood Studios Costumes may be forced to take theirs offline.
