“The Black Teacher“ — Update: Readers Comments
Thanks to all readers who sent in comments about that mysterious “black teacher”.
Milja and others stated that we “forgot about two females who, although they’re not teachers, are a part of the Hogwarts staff: Madam Pince, the librarian, and Madam Pomfrey, who works in the Hospital Wing. The black woman could be one of those two.” And, indeed, Madam Pomfrey would make some sense, as she’s pretty close to Dumbledore in the books, definitely more than just part of the staff!
Edward noticed that ‘Sinistr-‘ is the latin root for “on the left”! The black teacher is on Dumbledore’s left (“It’s Sinistra – case closed”). Also, Edward states, a person who favors their left eye from constantly looking into telescopes is described as “sinistrocular.”
Many readers still believe that the mysterious teacher is Prof. Sprout, even if she’s far too skinny for being the Sprout of the books. Aharon believes “wearing dark and greenish clothes which reminds of plants” is a strong hint. Also “sitting next to Prof. Dumbledore is a great honor,” and he don’t thinks “don’t think a witch who is rarely mentioned in the book would recieve such a high honor.”
Julia generally speculates that “Warner Brothers may just be doing a Politically Correct situation and changing certain people to ward off any complaints that may come from different groups and such.”
