Kevin Carlyon, the “High Priest of British White Witches” said JK Rowling, her publisher and the film’s maker deserve to be cursed for not researching witches properly. He claims that Harry is flying his broomstick the wrong way round. The Daily Record reports:
“The broomstick is not only for flying. It’s also an important fertility symbol. To be blunt, it is a combination of the male and female naughty bits. As a fertility symbol it has to be treated with respect, and flying it the wrong way is like a sacrilege. Quite simply, you can’t fly a broom the wrong way. It just would not fly.”
Kevin, who says he knew he was a witch when he was five, continues: “It’s a disgrace and could have serious consequences for those who treat these matters more seriously than Warners and publishers Bloomsbury. The very least they should do is reprint the books and correct the film before it goes on release.”
And last night he was backed in his Potter broom claim by another witch, Susan Dearing, from Sussex, said: “There is no doubt about it. It’s always flown with the broom end at the front.”
