Reader Jeff Bassett sent us these tips about the Harry Potter Trading Card Game:

Just thought I would pass along a word on the HP card game. I purchased two of the starter decks and two full boxes of the booster cards. I was able to complete a full set of the cards. I believe I was lucky as there were few extras of the premium cards after going through all of the cards. I must have gotten just the right combination of cards given the two booster boxes I purchased. In the rares, I only had one to two extras of the cards. In the uncommons, you can expect to get 1 to 4 of them. An average of 10 of the commons for the rest of the cards.

Don’t buy any more than one of the starters unless you want to get the extra rules, chits and desk layout for setting up the cards. Both of mine were exactly the same and they were filled all with many duplicates of the common cards only and the foil of Hermione and Draco.

Counting my good luck, I had to spend $ 200.00 to get a complete set. Good luck to all of those hoping to make a set.
