[I love that title …!] From Asia Times Online comes this article on the possiblity of legal action being taken against the producers of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, alleging that Dobby the House-Elf is based on the likeness of Vladimir Putin, president of Russia.

“Potter” Books at Top of “Most Challenged” List for Fourth Year in a Row

The “Harry Potter” series is at the top of the American Library Association’s list of books most challenged in 2002. Edit: Heidi also wanted me to mention that Judith Krug, Director of the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom, will be the Friday keynote speaker at Nimbus 2003!

The BAFTA nominations were announced this morning, and icLiverpool has the full list here. Chamber of Secrets pulled three nominations, including Production Design, Sound and Achievement in Special Visual Effects. Thanks to Julez for the link.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets has won the Broadcast Film Critics Association Critics’ Choice Award for Best Family Film (live action). John Williams also won in the Best Composer category.
