Warner Brothers have launched their efforts to get Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban nominated for awards this year including the Oscars. WB now has their Official Awards Site up and running. The campaign is featuring these aspects of the Prisoner of Azkaban film for consideration by the voting Academy in the following categories:
Best Picture
Best Director
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Cinematographer
Best Art Direction
Best Visual Effects
Best Sound Editing
Best Sound Mixing
Best Film Editing
Best Original Score

Ads for this campaign are already appearing in trade magazines. Some of these ads, which we hope to get our own scans of, are already for sale on Ebay:
John Williams PoA Best Original Score Oscar Ad
Oscar Ad featuring photo of the Trio
Oscar Ad with Aunt Marge

The Academy Awards, considered to be the biggest of all the film awards, will be presented on Feb. 27th, 2005.

Note: Please remember that the screenings noted on the site linked to above are for Academy members only, and are not open to the public. Please watch your new Azkaban DVD instead of troubling those who work at the RSVP lines and the screening locations with unfounded requests for admittance. (Besides, you can watch the DVD in your jammies and replay Draco getting punched to your heart’s content.)
